10 Reminders For When You’re Not Sure If You’ll Make It Through

1. This too shall pass.

While no one around you may understand what you’re going through right now, it’s so important to remember that everything in life is temporary. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel guiding your every step forward. Keep going. You will make it through this, I promise you.

2. You will grow from this.

It’s only when we are experiencing discomfort in life that we can truly grow and transcend the “old” version of ourselves into a “new” version. Remember, within these challenging times is a lesson waiting for you to recognize it. In the end, you will grow through what you go through.

3. Let go of time.

While you are navigating through this difficult time, healing occurs at its own pace. There is no way to know how long the journey will take, but be gentle with yourself as you heal at your own pace. There is no moment that we truly experience other than this one. Take your time.

4. Seek to understand.

It’s so easy to want to crawl into bed and give up on yourself, but you’re braver than that. You’re brave enough to dig deeper within and seek to understand why you’re feeling a certain way, because it’s only then that we can truly let go of whatever it is that we are going through. And if you’re not there yet or you need more time to sit with your feelings, that’s okay too. Just do the best that you can.

5. You’re not alone.

You have people that care and love you even at your worst times; never forget that. While it may seem lonely when you’re not feeling like yourself, the people that love and care about you the most will always have empathy towards you. That’s true even if at this moment now you don’t necessarily have it towards yourself. Don’t be afraid to lean on these people.

6. It will all make sense in the end.

I know it’s difficult to see the big picture when you’re merely looking at an empty canvas, but I promise you, it will all make sense in the end. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but one day it will. Until then, trust the process of your life and watch as things all unfold as they should.

7. Take it one day at a time, one step at a time, and one moment at a time.

While things won’t necessarily solve themselves overnight, slowly but surely you’ll start seeing the light again. Focus on just today. What’s one thing you can do today that will help you see everything that’s great in your life?

8. Be kind to yourself.

Oftentimes, we are the most critical and the most difficult on ourselves. While you give yourself permission to heal, you also have permission to show yourself compassion when it’s perhaps a time that you may need it the most. Be patient with yourself as you navigate through this temporary fork in the road.

9. Take time to self-reflect.

To recenter yourself, pick yourself back up, and reevaluate your life. This may be a sign from the universe that you aren’t living authentically with who you truly are. Use this difficult period as a breakthrough moment where you transcended the life that you’ve been living thus far so you can enter a new reality… A more authentic, fulfilling one.

10. It is never too late to change.

Whether that’s changing your path in life or changing the person you are becoming, no matter how old you are or how far along you are on your current path, there is always time for you to change directions. Life is far too short to be “half-living.” It’s time to start fully living, and it’s never too late or too soon to start doing that.
