5 Steps For Becoming The Main Character Of Your Life
1. Be the hero.
Do you tend to be the victim of every story? Maybe the bad guy? If you haven’t noticed, the main character is ALWAYS the hero of a story. So, to turn yourself into a hero, I want you to grab a notebook or a piece of paper. Write down your story, and think about what you could change to be the hero. For example, in Beauty and The Beast, Belle was always the victim, right up until she changed something about her life. She was always stuck in a town until her father disappeared. Notice how she sounds like the victim so far. Then she went to find her father. Now she is starting to sound like a hero! As you finish the story, she ends up saving everyone from being knick-knacks.
2. Be positive and open-minded.
Every main character in a movie faces some challenges, right? Something went wrong so they need to fix it. It’s okay to not know what you are doing and go mope about it—everyone does. Just know you can never solve a problem being sad—you have to think of a positive outcome of every idea. To do that, think like a positive person. You need to be open to ideas from others, look for similar situations, and help others solve them.
3. Be yourself.
I know it sounds pretty cheesy, but being yourself is key. How can people know you if you aren´t yourself? Most people tend to be burnt out by the end of the day because they act all the time. If you want to be able to go to sleep without crying (if you do, because I know I do) then maybe switch friend groups. If you aren’t very social, then take a step out of your comfort zone and be ready for change. If your group makes you unhappy, find a new one.
4. Become less popular.
As weird as it sounds, having less popularity will make you happier. It seems all amazing, but it’s not. I’ve been there. You only need your friends. Popularity can ruin people. I used to have a best friend. She found another girl who was popular and started hanging out with her. She started caring about what others thought. She was not herself anymore, she was somebody else who was insecure and lonely, who seemed hot and cool but broken. Stop trying to be popular—I think it’s better to be well known. I am well known, and I can still talk to popular kids and everybody else. I never cared about what people were thinking about me. It always goes negatively if you worry about what others think.
5. Do you.
The whole point of this story is to show you that you need to be yourself and to make sure you are understanding all the reasons to be yourself. If you can´t be yourself, then who are you trying to be? You have to be yourself because everyone else is already taken. The greatest people were always themselves, like Newton and Einstein. You don’t go around seeing other people being other people—that’s considered being fake.
