6 Birth Months Who Are Always Cold

Some people welcome the first cool evening of fall by opening a window; others are already wearing socks to bed. In this playful birth-month lineup, these six are reaching for another layer before anyone else admits it's chilly.

1. March

March, you'll agree to dinner on the patio because the string lights look lovely, then spend the entire meal with your hands tucked between your knees. Your romantic streak keeps making plans your cold fingers would never approve. Someone offering you their jacket can win you over faster than a whole evening of flirting.

2. May

May, you can feel the one patch of sofa the blanket doesn't cover. A sock slipping below your heel is enough to interrupt an otherwise excellent evening, and yes, you will pause the movie to fix it. You're generous with the good snacks and the comfortable seats, but the thickest throw has your name on it.

3. January

January, there's a sweater on the back of your chair, another in the car, and absolutely no reason for anyone to comment on either. You like being prepared, especially for an office thermostat apparently set by someone training to live inside a refrigerator. If a coworker starts shivering, you'll quietly produce a spare cardigan. You brought two.

4. July

July, you keep asking whether everyone is warm enough while your own tea sits untouched. By the time you've found an extra blanket for your guest, you're curled into the other end of the couch with icy fingers around a lukewarm mug. Your favorite kind of affection is someone noticing this, taking the mug out of your hands, and bringing it back steaming.

5. September

September, you said the open window was fine twenty minutes ago, and now you're trying to pull your sleeves over your knuckles without attracting attention. You'd rather be a little chilly than make everyone rearrange themselves around you. The friend who knows you best has already stood up to close it.

6. October

October, you love the idea of a long autumn walk until the wind gets through your coat. Then your appreciation of the leaves becomes something you'd happily continue through a café window. You'll invite everybody along, order something hot, and stay for hours. Loving the season doesn't mean you agreed to spend it shivering.

Here's to the people who tuck the blanket around your feet without being asked.
