The Worst Relationship Of Your Life Will Be With The Person You Thought Was Your Soulmate
Sometimes you meet someone and know you were meant to love them. You feel it so deeply. Maybe itโs butterflies, but something in your gut tells you itโs them. And then as time goes on and you spend more time with them, those fluttering nerves go away and you feel at ease. You feel peace, softness, comfort. This is when you start to wonder if theyโre a soulmate.
When you believe youโve met a soulmate, you start to look at the relationship through rose-colored glasses. They donโt bring you flowers โ even though they know you like them. They see your favorite candy at the store and donโt get it for you because they thought of you. But at least theyโre kind to you and your body. At least theyโre faithful. At least they talk to you and spend time with you and love you.
You notice these good feelings and the good moments and hold on so tightly to them that you canโt even see the red flags, the blatant relationship differences, the attraction that is no longer there. You notice when things donโt feel good โ just okay โ but you donโt say anything. Instead, you shrink. You donโt give your needs and wants a voice.
When you settle for a love like that, you are evidently convincing yourself that the love is good. But in reality, itโs nothing but low effort. Itโs not enough for you.
The worst relationship of your life will be with someone who you thought was a soulmate. Someone who you believed was a comfort when it was really just complacency. Someone who gave you love, but not the kind of love you deserve.
