4 Powerful Keys To Embrace Aquarius Season

We enter Aquarius season on January 20 following the rise and grind mentality of Capricorn. This portion of the Zodiac year presents us an opportunity to embrace individuality and experience the impact serving from an authentic place brings. Aquarius season, if not careful, can turn into a time we experience a sense of “falling behind” on individual goals and values, remaining invisible to inner power. At its lowest, we may feel stuck in a mindset of letting ourselves or our desired community down. To embrace the energy of Aquarius season and its deep connection to the law of attraction, here are 4 key reminders.

1. Clear your perception daily with a journal practice.

Every thought, every minute aspect of daily living carries an energetic charge. This energy impacts how we see ourselves and shapes the foundation of mental, emotional, and behavioral patterns. Whether aware of it or not, perception is a two-way street — how and what we perceive impacts how and what we release, and how and what we release impacts how and what we perceive. Staying within the introspective, feminine qualities of winter, embrace extra moments of darkness in your morning and evening routine. This may look like capturing intentions in the morning and reflecting on emotions in the evening. Aquarius season teaches the power of truth-telling, and journaling clears energy so we can remain accountable and appreciative for the bountiful power within.

2. Act on small flashes of insight.

Aquarius’ modern ruler is Uranus, the planet associated with flashes of insight that lead to new and innovative ways of being. This is the call we receive that may suddenly appear “out of nowhere” pulling us in one direction or another. As a transpersonal planet, Uranus’ power leads us to shift individual expression, and from there, uses personal expression to shift the consciousness of the planet. A small, but powerful, way to engage with the energy of Aquarius season is to present ourselves with intuition and spontaneity. This may look like choosing outfits in the morning, giving ourselves permission to change clothes midday, or dyeing our hair a new color. It also may look like listening to music you want to listen to, sparking up a conversation about your favorite book or podcast, or choosing a date night restaurant the day of. In allowing ourselves permission to act on small flashes of insight, we strengthen our capacity to embody this behavior on a larger scale. Going against current patterns is always going to bring temporary discomfort. Our nervous system needs to learn it’s okay to go against the “status quo,” to embrace individuality, and that the experience of discomfort is not a “bad” thing. Likely, our uninhibited expression will call the right people closer towards us, even though the intention is not to live as anyone besides our authentic self.

3. Take initiative to create inspired community.

As an air sign, Aquarius is more social than the preceding Capricorn. During Aquarius season, we’re called to re-open ourselves up to more social pursuits while remaining respectful of the introspective energy of winter. Aquarius deeply values community, and more specifically, aligns us with individuals whose goals and personal expression alchemizes with our own. Don’t use this as a time of year to forcefully push social situations — question who you feel most comfortable with and give yourself permission to engage with them. Bonus points if ways of meeting go against what you think is the “status quo” — find your yoga community, create a music tribe, vision board with future travel companions. This time of year is all about living in the law of attraction, and little is as important as the loving energy manifested through realms of community and interpersonal relationships.

4. Prioritize connecting with the felt sense during alone time. (It’s okay to chill out.)

Aquarius is the humanitarian of the Zodiac. Filled with intentions we set for the new year, goals and ideals may begin to feel quite weighty — the exact opposite of how we likely want to feel. This may trigger feelings of hopelessness or desperation. If you’ve been getting down on yourself recently, resist the temptation to go down the rabbit hole of intellectualizing to the point of no return. Everything in this world is living, and nothing about being an energetic being is stagnant or permanent. Get yourself out of a funk by building a deeper connection with the felt sense. Yin yoga is a powerful tool for connecting with one’s inner power. Or, listen to an energy meditation such as Above And Beyond’s “Flow State.” Although Aquarius is ruled by a transpersonal planet, giving ourselves permission to embrace necessary moments of solitude puts us in a position far more capable of embodying who we naturally are. This self-respect is the type of energy we want to be entering law of attraction season with.
