How To Hustle Without Completely Burning Out

In today’s fast-paced world, we walk a careful tightrope trying to achieve our wildest dreams while trying not to overload ourselves with stimulation (ie. mental burnout). This becomes a difficult battle when you’re goal-driven, accomplishment-oriented, and have a fear of wasting time, but it also becomes increasingly unhealthy when it prevents you from living peacefully in this moment as well. By far one of the most challenging things I’ve had to learn is how to stop filling my days with things that don’t fulfill me just because I feel like I need to be “doing something” in order to be worthy of success.

The truth is, no matter what stage you currently reside at in your life, you don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t need to know the exact career you want to be in, know who the love of your life is, travel the world, move out of your house or achieve your deepest ambitions at any right time. The truth is that there is no rush, nor should there be. Because as long as you are on the right path, then time doesn’t matter. As long as you are doing the right things now, then your timeline shouldn’t mean anything. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

All too well, I understand how much your mind can race when you give yourself space to relax. We distract ourselves with the tribulations of TikTok and Instagram in order to avoid the thoughts of inadequacy and inferiority. But it’s okay to rest. It’s okay to play the long haul. And most of all, it’s okay to go at your own pace, knowing that your journey will never be the same as somebody else’s—so don’t worry if it doesn’t come as fast as theirs, either

I hope this message serves as a constant reminder to let your feelings guide your actions. Pay careful attention to the things that call you in this moment, rather than the things you feel like you ‘have’ to do in order to get somewhere in the future . Don’t allow society’s pressures to cloud you from enjoying your life and your process in the moment now. Don’t allow the rules and guidelines that others have created dictate your path, your worth, and your story.

I don’t know who this will resonate with, but I hope that you have the courage to breathe deeply each day, to sleep deeply at night, and to enjoy whatever happens to be right in front of you at this moment now. Never be embarrassed by your current situation– be proud of it, because it’s exactly where you are meant to be in order to receive the lessons and growth that you deserve.

The truth is, the world is hiding behind filters and selfies, routine videos and fancy b-roll cuts. But in reality, these same individuals very well could be hiding from the way that they’re feeling. Live your life the way you desire to, go as fast or as slow as you want, and most of all, don’t get caught up in believing your worth is based on how much or how little you do judging by the stories other people share online. Success stories consist of different storylines for the main character. Don’t be afraid to scribble out of the lines, create a new script, and craft your own ending.
