It’s Time To Apologize To Ourselves For Allowing Others To Make Us Feel Insignificant
It’s time to apologize to ourselves for all the times we allowed others to make us feel like we’re not good enough and all the times we stayed up questioning our own worth just because some people weren’t able to reciprocate our love or see us the way we wanted to be seen. It’s time to put an end to this pattern because we simply know better now. We know that we cannot depend on others to fix us or find the missing pieces in our puzzle. We cannot depend on others to complete us or save us. They can only help us on our journey. They can only make it a little bit easier so we can deal with our own challenges, but at the end of the day it’s our battles to fight, and if they don’t want to be on the same road with us, it’s time to safely drop them off.
It’s time to apologize to ourselves for holding on a little too long to people who let us go so easily. It’s time to realize that those people may not have a heart like ours. It’s time to realize that our hearts were not made to be constantly broken and we do not deserve to always compromise and lower our standards just to make people happy or keep them in our lives. It’s time to stop accepting breadcrumbs when we’re hungry. It’s time to ask for the main course until we’re full.
It’s time to apologize to ourselves for changing to please others or pretending to be who they want us to be. It’s time to take back all these years we spent hiding who we really are because we didn’t think we were good enough. It’s time to accept who we are and embrace our flaws as we work on becoming better people, not to impress anyone but to impress ourselves, to evolve and progress in life. It’s time to flaunt our talents, our humor, our passion, and our opinions to the world because we’re no longer afraid of what people will say. It’s time to start attracting the people who love us for who we really are, not who we’re pretending to be.
And last but not least, it’s time to stop chasing what’s not meant to be ours. It’s time to stop fighting for people who are okay with losing us and it’s time to start investing in ourselves more. It’s time to start loving ourselves the way we want others to love us and it’s time to believe that we deserve the best in love and in life. It’s time to remember that we are like flowers, we can only bloom and flourish in the right environment, but we can still choose which environment to grow in and which one to leave.
It’s time to apologize to ourselves for allowing others to make us feel insignificant because we didn’t value ourselves enough, and it’s time to value ourselves more, even if no one else does, and treat ourselves with more love, kindness, and compassion.
