Some Things To Remember When You’re Having A Bad Day

Nothing stays the same. Even when things are at their darkest, it’s important to remember that everything in life is temporary — this darkness will end and there will always be a light at the end of it.

You can’t be everything to everyone. So often we try to please everyone, when really we have to start trying to please ourselves. If we are constantly looking for validation for others, we will always be chasing it — when in reality, we can build that validation from within.

Be gentle with yourself. Don’t be so hard on yourself — we strangle our creativity because we are so glued to the end-result. Never allow the destination to cloud the journey along the way. Be gentle with yourself and understand that this life is a process—the only thing we are rushing towards is the end. So give yourself a break.

You’re not alone, and don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. It’s okay not to be okay — if you need a break, don’t be afraid to give it to yourself. We all know how challenging it can be to navigate difficult waters alone, so instead, be brave enough to ask for help when you need it… because we all need it sometimes.

Focus on only the things you can control. Let go of the rest. When we focus on what’s out of our control, we feel hopeless. However, when we focus on the things that we can control, we give ourselves power. The power to change how we think, feel, and act on a regular basis. This is perhaps one of the most amazing things we can give ourselves because there is nothing more growing — nothing more fulfilling — than picking yourself back up after you’ve fallen and seeing how far you’ve come when you look back on it.

When you’re having a hard day, life can feel like an up-hill climb. But with the right mindset, you can change your perspective and build yourself up by acknowledging your difficulty and working through it. You can do it — I know you can.
