The Storybook Character You’d Be, Based On Your Birth Month
Some of us would follow a talking rabbit. Others would want to know who packed lunch and how everyone planned to get home. Hereโs the storybook character your birth month might have the most in common with.
January: Dorothy Gale
January, youโd be Dorothy from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, keeping your purpose in mind while everything around you gets increasingly strange. You can appreciate an unexpected adventure and still remember what you came to do. When a group gets overwhelmed, youโre usually the one asking a useful question: where are we going, and whatโs the next step? Thereโs warmth in that practicality. You want everyone to make it through together. A magnificent palace might impress you, but it wouldnโt make you forget the people waiting for you at home.
February: Alice
Youโd follow the White Rabbit, February, but youโd have questions for nearly everyone afterward. Aliceโs curiosity comes with a willingness to challenge what sheโs told, and thatโs the part that suits you. A confident explanation doesnโt automatically become a convincing one. You can enjoy an eccentric person, an unfamiliar idea, or a conversation that takes a strange turn without agreeing to every bit of nonsense involved. People sometimes mistake your questions for objections. Often, youโre interested enough to want an actual answer.
March: Anne Shirley
March, youโd be Anne Shirley, finding something worth getting excited about in places other people pass without noticing. You get attached to a beautiful view, a favorite walk, or a conversation that makes an ordinary afternoon feel special. Your imagination gives you plenty to think about, and youโre happiest with someone who wants to hear it.
You can be wonderfully dramatic when something delights you. A lovely day deserves a full description. So does a small kindness. When you tell someone youโre happy to see them, they donโt have to wonder whether youโre being polite.
April: Peter Pan
An adventure sounds better to you before everyone has discussed it into the ground. As Peter Pan, April, youโd be the one making an unlikely outing sound immediately possible. Your friends might be settling in for an uneventful afternoon when you remember a place youโve all wanted to see. Suddenly, people are finding their shoes. You bring out the part of them that still wants to play, explore, and have something worth talking about tomorrow. Your most persuasive invitation is often the simplest: come with me.
May: Winnie-the-Pooh
May, you belong in Winnie-the-Poohโs company, where a visit and something good to eat can be plenty of occasion. You understand the appeal of a day that doesnโt require a remarkable story afterward. There was time to sit. Someone you like stayed a little longer. You found something to laugh about that probably wouldnโt be funny to anyone else. People can relax around you because an ordinary mood doesnโt need fixing or explaining. They can arrive without exciting news and still feel that youโre glad they came.
June: The Cheshire Cat
Youโd be the Cheshire Cat, June: amused, observant, and difficult to recruit into somebody elseโs unnecessary drama. You can listen to a very serious debate and ask the one question that makes everyone realize how ridiculous itโs become. You enjoy people, but you donโt need to reveal every thought to keep a conversation going. You donโt have to share every thought to make an impression. Sometimes one perfectly timed comment is enough. Your friends will still be quoting it after the conversation has moved on.
July: The Tin Woodman
The Tin Woodman worries about having a heart while showing remarkable tenderness. July, youโd recognize the impulse to care about something other people barely notice. You remember that a joke landed badly, even after the conversation has moved on. Later, you find a quiet way to check on the person who stopped laughing. You donโt need them to make a speech about being hurt, and you donโt make a speech about helping. You just want to know theyโre okay. Youโre the person who remembers to check in later, even when everyone else has moved on to something new.
August: The Cowardly Lion
August, youโd be the Cowardly Lion: bold enough to make an impression and loyal enough to stick around when things get difficult. You enjoy a grand entrance, but the people close to you also know they can count on you when the attention is elsewhere.
You might feel nervous before speaking up or trying something unfamiliar. Once someone you care about needs your support, though, you have a reason to go ahead. Youโll be beside them, possibly offering an enthusiastic pep talk that is also partly meant for you.
September: The Scarecrow
September, youโd be the Scarecrow, thinking your way through a problem while everyone else is still deciding how worried to be. You ask useful questions, notice whatโs available, and enjoy discovering that something complicated has a surprisingly simple solution.
Youโre curious about how things work and willing to think an idea through. Friends know they can bring you a half-formed plan without having every detail ready. Youโll probably spot something they missedโand be interested enough to help them work it out.
October: Mary Lennox
October, youโd be Mary Lennox from The Secret Garden, growing more open as you find something worth tending. You donโt necessarily warm to people on introduction. Shared interest works better than being told you should all be friends. Give you a project you care about and someone who cares about it, too, and the conversation starts to happen naturally. You begin remembering where you left off together. Then you want to hear how their week went. Affection develops while your attention is elsewhere, until youโre looking forward to seeing them as much as finishing what you started.
November: Jo March
Youโd be Jo March from Little Women, November, with something of your own to make and strong opinions about being interrupted. You can love people deeply while wanting a life they wouldnโt have chosen for you. An idea can absorb you for hours; explaining why it matters can be harder than doing the work. Youโd rather show someone when itโs ready. Thereโs ambition here, but also the pleasure of making something sound, look, or feel the way you imagined it. Even on an otherwise forgettable day, you might have one thing youโre eager to get back to.
December: Tinker Bell
December, youโd be Tinker Bell, whose small size does very little to contain her feelings. Youโre expressive when youโre delighted, expressive when youโre annoyed, and not especially convincing when you claim youโre neither. The people close to you tend to know where they stand. Your enthusiasm is easy to catch, and your loyalty is just as unmistakable. When someone you love needs you, you want to help immediately. Friends know theyโll get a wholehearted welcome, a very honest reaction, and someone firmly in their corner.
