The world seems small at times. When in your head it’s small, it’s easy to think there’s no room for you. That feeling of insignificance makes you feel like everything you want for your life won’t come to fruition. Once those poisonous thoughts seep into your mind, it’s hard to convince yourself otherwise.
Industries are heavily saturated. Social media is crowded with people doing the same exact things as you. Seeing so many chase after the same dream creates doubt. Can I really do this? Am I just kidding myself? Why try if others have already picked up all the accomplishments? They’re already living my dream.
Following your dream isn’t an option, it’s a necessity. It’s as necessary and needed as breathing. It’s what keeps you going. It’s what makes life grand. If you don’t try, you’ll never know where you can go.
You’re in control of your destiny. You hold and draw the map to your destination. There’s never going to be a right time to get started. Now is as good a time as any. You can’t wait for magic to happen, you have to create it yourself.
No matter how many people do the same things as you—whether that’d be writing, painting, or designing—it doesn’t make a difference in your ability to create. Everyone pulls from different inspiration sources, everyone possesses different education, everyone thinks differently. Bottom line, there is no carbon copy of you.
You are your only competition. It doesn’t matter what someone else is doing, it’s what you’re doing in this very moment to move yourself forward. Each day is a new start. If you didn’t like what you did yesterday, change that today. Ask yourself every morning who you want to be and what you want to accomplish. Taking it day by day creates progress, but don’t forget the bigger picture.
No matter how small the world may seem or how many people occupy the same space as you, there is room for you. And if by some odd chance there’s not, make it.
