Why You Should Date Someone Who Wears Their Heart On Their Sleeve

Some people play mind games and pretend not to care in order to attract partners – but there are other ways to find love. There are people out there who appreciate honesty and vulnerability. There are people who will be drawn to authenticity, not turned off by it. Here are a few reasons why you should date someone who wears their heart on their sleeve – and be someone who wears your heart on your sleeve.

They’re never going to send you mixed signals or make you guess what’s on their mind.

They’re going to tell you how they feel, even when their confession could make things awkward. If they have a crush on you, you’ll know it. If they want to kiss you, it will be obvious. They won’t play dating games because they believe honesty is the best policy. This means they’ll be transparent with you from the start. You won’t have to jump through hoops to figure out how they feel about you. You can simply ask.

They won’t pretend they’re fine when something is wrong.

They won’t be able to hold back their emotions for long. When something is bothering them, it will be written all over their face. They don’t like to lie, even when they’re telling little white lies, so you can trust that they aren’t keeping any secrets from you. Since they’re so honest, problems won’t be able to build up over time. You’ll be able to discuss what’s wrong early on, before the issue snowballs.

When they compliment you, you know they mean it.

You won’t have to wonder whether they’re telling the truth when they say those three little words. They can’t look someone in the eye and lie to them, so if they claim you’re an important part of your world, they’re telling the truth. You matter. You make their life a little more beautiful. So you don’t need to worry about whether they’re going to leave you or cheat on you. If they say they’re committed to you, then they mean it. They don’t break their promises.

You can skip past the talking stage.

Sometimes, it can take months to go from texting someone to meeting up with them in person. But if you know this other person is interested, you can skip past the stage where you play it cool and act disinterested. You can start getting to know each other on a deeper level. You don’t have to worry about double texting or hanging out too much. Putting in effort won’t be a turn-off. It will only help your bond grow stronger.

They haven’t given in to peer pressure.

This person has probably been hurt before. They understand that being so open with their heart can backfire. They know they could get their kindness thrown back in their face. But they’ve chosen to have hope, to lead with kindness, to take a shot on love. They’re brave enough to try when so many other people are too scared to let themselves care.
