5 Zodiacs Who Should Be Extra Careful As April’s Mercury Retrograde Comes To An End

Most people in the astrology community are familiar with the notorious Mercury retrograde – the period lasting about three weeks that occurs three to four times each year, when Mercury appears to spin backward in the sky. As the planet ruling technology and communication, Mercury retrograde is associated with errors, breakdowns, and things just generally going wrong. Mercury stationed retrograde on April 1, 2024, and will remain there until April 25. Here are the five zodiac signs that need to be extra careful during this time.

Aries

Since this Mercury retrograde falls right in the middle of Aries season (March 21-April 19), Aries people will be the most strongly affected. 

Don’t despair, Aries – your birthday season doesn’t have to be ruined by the infamous Mercury retrograde. This zodiac sign is known for being quick to anger, reckless, and impatient, so it’s very important to temper these traits during Mercury retrograde. Slow down, take deep breaths, and try to contain your road rage, Aries. Your birthday will bring plenty of wonderful surprises to counteract the harsh effects of the retrograde.

Taurus 

Although Mercury retrograde takes place from April 1-25, its effects can linger and still be felt during the shadow periods preceding and following the actual retrograde dates. The shadow period ends on May 13, 2024, fully completing this retrograde cycle.

This means that some of the retrograde will bleed into Taurus, and Taurus people (born between April 20 and May 20) will be strongly affected. This stubborn zodiac sign is going to have to be a little bit more flexible as Mercury throws curveballs and changes their plans. Gemini

As the zodiac sign ruled by Mercury, Gemini is always deeply affected by the retrograde. Clever, quick-witted Geminis are already prone to anxious thoughts, which can intensify during this period. 

Since they are always so heavily impacted, Geminis should be old pros and dealing with the retrograde effects. Consider how you have overcome the challenges of past retrogrades, Gemini, and use the tools in your belt to do it again. Virgo

Virgo is the only other sign of the zodiac ruled by Mercury. So, like its sister sign Gemini, Virgo is intensely affected by Mercury retrograde. 

Although they are flexible, Virgos are perfectionists who like things done a certain way. You are going to have to be a little less rigid to survive this retrograde, Virgo. You are probably well aware of the chaos that can ensue during a retrograde period, and this one is intensified by Aries’ fiery energy. Relax your need for control and perfection, and know that now is the time to lean into your sign’s natural adaptability and resourcefulness.

Scorpio

Scorpio is ruled by Pluto and, to a lesser degree, Mars. Mars governs Aries, the sign that the April 2024 Mercury retrograde is in. So, this retrograde will have a slightly stronger effect on Scorpio, thanks to Mars’ influence. 

As a fixed sign, Scorpios are naturally headstrong and unyielding. They struggle to adjust to changes in their plans or situations outside their control. The communication errors and technology breakdowns of Mercury retrograde can make this sensitive sign extra moody and irritable.
