Don’t Chase Someone Who Can’t Even Answer Your Texts
Thereโs nothing wrong with making the first move. If you like someone, then feel free to chase after them โ within reason. You donโt want to expend too much of your energy on a person who is never going to appreciate what youโre putting yourself through for them. You never want to make yourself miserable by giving someone one too many chances. If they arenโt giving you an ounce of attention, even after youโve been bending over backwards for them, you shouldnโt keep bugging them until they change their mind. You shouldnโt have to show them why youโre worthy of their time and attention. They should already see your value. They should understand how much you have to offer.
Remember, thereโs a difference between pursuing someone who is letting you take the lead and chasing after someone who doesnโt want to be caught. Thereโs nothing wrong with going after what (or who) you want. It takes courage to push aside your fears and take that risk. Even though you should be proud of yourself for putting yourself out there, you donโt want to take it too far. You donโt want to chase after someone who doesnโt want anything to do to you. You donโt want to keep running in the wrong direction.
Remember, you donโt want to chase after someone who wonโt even answer your texts. After all, if they arenโt able to get back to you when they carry their phone around everywhere, what are the chances theyโre going to meet your other standards? Answering a text might not sound like a huge deal, but itโs an easy thing to do. It only takes seconds. And if they like you as much as you like them, then they will want to have a conversation with you. They will want to hear from you as much as possible. ย
You shouldnโt have to send them ten messages before theyโll answer you once. You shouldnโt have to stare at your phone for days, waiting for them to acknowledge your existence. You shouldnโt have to check their social media and wonder why they can post online but canโt answer you one-on-one. You shouldnโt have to feel like youโre the only one putting effort into coming up with topics, into keeping the conversation flowing. Relationships are about two people coming together. Two people trying. Two people caring. You canโt be the only one trying.
Chasing someone might be fun in the beginning, but if they still arenโt letting you catch them after a certain amount of time has past, you should let them go. You shouldnโt have to teach this person how to give you the bare minimum. If they wonโt even answer your texts, they arenโt worth your time.
Donโt chase someone who wonโt even answer your texts because you deserve more than the bare minimum โ and answering your texts is just the start. Thatโs the smallest thing you should be expecting. If someone doesnโt want to answer you, then let them get away. Let them lose you.
