Why You Feel Like Your Life Sucks, Based On Your Birth Month
January
You feel like your life sucks because you’re making too many comparisons to your peers. But you are on separate journeys. Their road is going to look different than yours. Just because they’re moving faster doesn’t mean they’re better or they’re living life the right way. There is no right way.
February
You feel like your life sucks because you’re not taking good enough care of yourself. You need to rest when you feel yourself burning out. You need to let yourself cry when you’re upset and let yourself ask for help when you’re struggling. You can’t stubbornly do this alone, without a break or a helping hand.
March
You feel like your life sucks because you’re failing to meet expectations that other people have set for you. But this is not their life. It is your life. You are in control of how you spend it. Whether they approve of your choices or are proud of you doesn’t matter as much as you think, as long as you’re happy in the end.
April
You feel like your life sucks because it looks different than you imagined when you were younger. But the younger version of you didn’t know how much you would be up against, how many things would go wrong, how your dreams and plans would shift. They knew nothing at all.
May
You feel like your life sucks because you’re underestimating yourself. You’re holding yourself back because you assume that you’re going to fail or embarrass yourself. You aren’t doing what your heart is compelling you to do out of fear and self-doubt.
June
You feel like your life sucks because you haven’t found your people yet. You feel like you’re alone, like you’re the only person in the world who is experiencing this type of pain, because you haven’t connected with others who feel the same.
July
You feel like your life sucks because you’re comparing your present to your past. But you need to let go of yesterday. Things probably weren’t as great as you’re remembering anyway. The grass is always greener on the other side. Maybe you lost some things that once made you happy, but you can find new things to make you happy.
August
You feel like your life sucks because you’re paying too much attention to imaginary timelines. You’re telling yourself that you should have settled down or gotten a house or gotten a raise by now. But should is irrelevant. As long as you’re trying, you’re on the right path.
September
You feel like your life sucks because you’re refusing to change it. Even though there are steps you can take to modify your situation, you’re continuing to do what’s familiar. You aren’t taking the leap and trying something new, so things are remaining the same as they always were.
October
You feel like your life sucks because bad things have happened to you, and you’re worried history is going to repeat itself. You have trouble picturing a world where everything is okay because you’ve been in survival mode for too long. You have forgotten what it’s like to find happiness and comfort — but you can still find those things.
November
You feel like your life sucks because you’re a pessimist. You’re assuming that things are going to go wrong when nothing has even happened yet. You’re worrying about the future instead of thinking about the present that’s right in front of you.
December
You feel like your life sucks because you’re focusing on the negatives. Instead of thinking about the many beautiful pieces of your life, you’re dwelling on the small amount that goes wrong, on the people who won’t stay, on the days that bring you down.
