These Are The First Signs Your Partner Is Cheating
“Phone going off at night when they were sleeping, and they wake up to respond to it.” — Sionnach_Rue
“Does your partner sometimes get a phone call and then go out on the porch to talk to whoever they’re talking to, so that you won’t hear what they’re saying? They’re cheating.” — Bizarre_Protuberance
“Using the bathroom more often and for longer periods of time. You know how when you’re texting someone you’re into, you just kind of light up and smile at their replies all the time and people around you can tell? Many times they’ll even ask who you’re talking to. In a partner scenario, it’s like… partner looking at their phone and lights up. ‘What’s got you all smiley?’ You’d expect a partner to just show you the funny meme or the joke they just read or something. A lot of times a cheater will go to the bathroom or some other private space to do this instead of doing it while they’re on the couch next to you to avoid this scenario.” — WH1TE-W0LF
“When they pick fights out of nowhere and use those fights as an excuse to not talk for a night or so.” — pbd1996
“They don’t allow you access to their phone or computers or iPads OR they will never leave their phone alone at any time OR are very secretive while on their electronics” — JustBecauseXYZ
“When they travel they don’t check in with you or call or text or tell you where they are staying or when they’ll be back.” — JustBecauseXYZ
“They take a much greater interest in their appearance. They were not doing it for you, but they are doing it for the other person.” — ShadyShaina
“If they can usually read their texts through their Lock Screen notifications and then one day it just says a name and iMessage.” — BossmanBobCormier
“More generally, when the emotional intimacy starts draining away. When you’re still saying I love you at the end of virtually every sentence and they can’t bring themselves to say it at all any more.” — Kinitawowi64
“Showering right after they get home, if they usually don’t do it. Also hopping into the shower right before you could sniff him or her. Important: this behavior has to be new.” — moi-le-rois
“Lying. Especially about where they’ve been, who they’re with, what they’re doing, etc. It may not be obvious at first, but lies tend to come out.” — ststeveg
“They start accusing you of cheating. Projection is strong.” — baronvb1123
“Honestly, from my experience, if you’re getting the gut feeling it’s probably true. It depends on you as a person because some people do genuinely irrationally believe they’re being cheated on but if you’re typically a straight rational thinker and something is just telling you, you should listen to it. Confront it and get that part over with. Their reaction usually tells you all you need to know. They always will lie, but you’ll still be able to gage something from their response. Your gut will tell you. Find someone you can trust. Someone you genuinely do won’t have you thinking this. And sadly it can be hard to find. People have genuinely surprised me in the worst ways.” — sadbudda
