The Truth Is Fighting For What You Want Is A Battle Not Everyone Can Fight
It’s a constant battle, being torn between letting things go because if they’re meant to be they will find you or going after what your heart desires because life is too short and some things are worth fighting for. Sometimes there’s no right or wrong answer, because in theory, both are correct and they both make sense, but if you want to make it easier, then you have to look at yourself and what works for your personality and whether you have what it takes to fight.
The art of fighting for what you want begins and ends with you, because you’re the only one who can truly tell if you have what it takes to persist and roll with the punches even if you have to bruise your ego or swallow your pride or discipline yourself like you’ve never had before or if are you the kind of person who believes that the things that are meant for you will be facilitated one way or another and you’re okay with the unknown, the uncertainty and instability of it all.
The art of fighting for what you want means you have to be calculated. You can’t be spontaneous, you can’t be impulsive and you can’t be triggered by the circumstances that get in the way. You have to be thick-skinned and mentally strong to handle the hurdles in the way, and you have to learn how to regulate your emotions instead of emotionally reacting to the problems and the difficulties. You have to be courageous and bold in your approach, because the more you want something, the harder the rejection will be, and if you’re not ready to handle that kind of hit, then don’t do it, because it will only make you spiral down a road of self-loathing and self-sabotage.
Letting things happen organically is comforting in a way because you don’t put yourself in unfavorable situations where you can be rejected or let down or disappointed, but it can also keep you stuck waiting for a very long time for your turn. It’s up to fate and luck and divine timing, but fighting for what you want means you’re going to jump the gun, make hasty choices, and set yourself on fire so you can stand out. In a way, you have to pick your poison. Are you more comfortable staying put or are you willing to challenge yourself?
The truth is the art of fighting for what you want is not for everyone, if you’re not at a certain maturity level and if you’re not someone who has been through the wringer, then you won’t be able to continue fighting. The smallest setback will paralyze you and make you question yourself, but if you are the kind of person who has been through hell and back and you have learned not to take these punches personally and get back up right after, then by all means, fight that fight because you’re more likely to win. Fortune favors the bold, and unless you’re willing to keep taking those big risks, this road is not for you.
At the end of the day, you only have two choices: having utter faith that what’s meant for you will not pass you by and feeling good about waiting for as long as it takes until you get it, or taking a leap of faith that could get you there quicker, but it may or may not cost you everything you’ve got.
