I Found My Home In You
In between the soft noises of the bedsheet put together by our tangled movements and uneven breathing sounds, I found myself a place. And as the morning makes its way through the blinds, I pull you close to the warmth of my chest, squishing my eyes shut. I beg the sunlight for just a few more moments of our synchronized breath. Although my eyes were half open with the subtle vision, I was able to see my home in my arms.
Realizing there’s only a few minutes left in this paradise with You, I want an affirmation: Can I call you my home?
As for me, home is your hands tangled in your silky black hair
It is your eyes that widen in excitement
The crooked lines on your forehead while you’re tensed
And your red nose which has suffered the weather change.
Home is you in your favorite baggy t-shirt
Roaming everywhere, humming your favorite summer song.
And a cup of strong coffee in December
Which always lasts longer than it should.
Echoes of my name being saved in these walls
And the lub dub of my heart changing its rhythm next to you.
All these emotions make a big wave to crash
But instead, they swash towards you.
It’s a feeling of my head hitting your lap
And your hair strands gently traveling all over my face.
Your face illuminated by the moonlight, reminding me of where I am
And I know that I’m Home.
A gentle twirling on my head now and then
With fingers intertwined while watching a movie.
The goosebumps I get and the tickles you feel
They also know they’re home too.
On the night when my body will be weak and spent
When my soul will be flooded with your presence
And my hands will be shivering in the desire to hold yours
Will you let us call you My Home?
