No Matter What You’re Going Through, I Hope You Choose To Persevere
Perseverance is a word that we are often drawn to but never fully understanding the meaning.
Per·se·ver·ance/ˌpərsəˈvirəns/: Persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
When you go through deep experiences that involve suffering, you are left with two options: let it consume you or flip it around and consume it. The latter is easier said than done, but I am a firm believer that we are meant to experience suffering by moving through it without dwelling inside of it for too long.
In life, you go through things alongside others and form these amazing connections. They are built on shared experiences. There are times when you laugh with people and other times you cry with them. So many emotions and experiences shared with others that form special bonds. It seems unbreakable in the moment, but because it’s between you and another imperfect human, you are often left disappointed when circumstances change. This is why perseverance must first be attained when going through suffering alone, so that you come full circle without always relying on someone else.
Some people go through these things alone more than others and have mastered this. They laugh and cry alone and form an otherworldly connection within themselves. The same connection they would have formed with others, but they soak it up internally. The power of two is great and has so much value, but the power of you within yourself can be even more beneficial because it removes all questionability in betrayal.
No matter if you are sifting through the ups and downs with someone nearby or completely on your own, you have the strength inside of you to keep on going. If you don’t have anything outwardly to lean on, tap inside because you are more powerful than you know. Today’s pain is persevering you through until you reach tomorrow’s power.
