People Come Into Your Life For Different Reasons, But Always On Purpose

Some people are the eyes you catch in the glimpse of a moment. They are the old couple dancing under the streetlight, the guy you waved at from across the street because he looked like that childhood friend you never got to kiss, or the stranger who wishes you a good day on the bus. In the magic of the moment, they are the reminder that there is beauty in small things.

Some people are last night or last year. They are the lessons you didn’t know you needed at that moment but in hindsight can’t live without. They are the mistake that turned into a blessing or the almost right one or the one who got away. Like a wave crashing against the shore, they love you and they leave you and they teach you the ebbs and flows of life.

Some people are your favorite childhood memory. They are the first kiss that you thought would last forever but somewhere along the way forever fell apart. They are your favorite glitter wellies you used to wear every day, even though it wasn’t raining, till one day they no longer fit. Like the crescent moon, they are the mirrors that reflect back your growth, the testaments to your becoming.

And some people are a lifetime. They are the smile that crosses your lips in the morning or the open doors at 2 a.m. just because you didn’t want to be alone. They are the endless walks that keep finding your path, no matter how far you stray. At the end of the day, these are the people who stay because they know loving you is the most beautiful thing in the world.

Not all people are meant to be forever. Not all people are meant to stay or meant to stay the same. But all people are meant to be, if only for a moment in time.
