Single? This 3 Card Tarot Spread Is Like A Magic Window To Your Next Relationship
I think we can all agree that swiping through Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble can be exhausting and disheartening. While being single in general isn’t so bad, it can kill the mood when you see just how shallow and polluted the dating pool is. I swear, every time I get on a dating app, a piece of my hope gets chipped away. A good way to keep you on track to picking the right person–or give you a little hope for the future–is to look to the tarot cards for a peek at your next relationship. All you need is your favorite tarot deck and a hopeful heart. I’ll even show you how I interpreted my own Next Relationship tarot spread.
The “Next Relationship” Tarot Spread
The Next Relationship spread uses just three cards, laid out in succession, to see what your next relationship, fling, or situationship will be.
As you shuffle your cards, focus on what you want in your next relationship. What have you learned from your last dating experience, and how will you use that knowledge moving forward? How has your singledom affected your mood. Whatever your past, keep your thoughts hopeful. Focus all your energy on what you want as you shuffle. When you feel like you’re done, cut the cards, then pull three from the top. The positions are:
- You, in this relationship
- The relationship as a whole
- Your partner, in this relationship
In the first position, the “You” card shows what you’ll be like in your next relationship. Sometimes we’re great lovers. Sometimes we let our anxiety or jealousy get the best of us. Each relationship is different, and so will you be. I pulled the Death card, which is all about beginnings and ends (and isn’t as doom-and-gloom as it seems). Perhaps I’m going to stop any self-sabotaging I may have done in the past!
In the second position, the “Relationship” card shows you what the relationship will be like. Maybe you’ll see lasting love here, or something short. It could be a rocky relationship with lots of fighting, or something that fizzles out over time. I pulled the 4 of Swords, “Truce.” It looks like we’ll be working together well, reflecting and recharging. It could be a good partnership, focusing on each other’s needs.
In the third position, the “Your Partner” card shows what your partner will be like. Just like the “you” card, this is more about what they’ll be like in the relationship, rather than in general. Will they be a good match for you? I pulled the Knight of Chalices/Cups. My next partner will be romantic and idealistic, good with following his heart. Sign me up!
