The Deepest Quotes From ‘This Was Meant To Find You (When You Needed It Most)’ By Charlotte Freeman
If you’re looking for a book to guide you when you’re feeling confused or lost, to be a comfort when you’re carrying the weight of the world on your own, or to support you in the midst of your journey of healing, then this is for you.
This is Charlotte’s second collection of poetry, and this was meant to find you when you needed it most.
You are more capable than you think.
I hope you are learning to give yourself the credit you deserve. I hope you are beginning to recognize just how strong you are for pulling yourself through each and every difficult time in your life. I hope you allow this realization to walk with you, alongside any obstacles or roadblocks you might encounter along your journey. I hope you know just how capable you are and that no matter how challenging a situation may seem, you have the courage to keep moving, to keep growing, and to keep healing. I hope you can look in the mirror and say, I’m proud of you and really mean it. And above all, I hope you realize how just incredible you are, and just how much you deserve your own love.

You come first. You’re allowed to say no if you want to say no.
You’re allowed to say no if something doesn’t serve you. You’re allowed to say no if something doesn’t feel right. Don’t betray yourself for the sake of someone else’s happiness.

You are enough.
You are enough even when you don’t feel like it. Even on your darkest days, you know, the ones when you don’t even feel like getting out of bed, you’re enough on those days too. You are enough even when your heart has been hurt by someone you love and care about. You know those days when you stand in front of the mirror and don’t feel like yourself, you’re enough on those days too. When you’re exhausted, run off your feet, and didn’t finish everything you needed to do that day, you’re enough then too. You are enough. You always are and you always have been. Be kind to yourself. Today and always.

Don’t strive for perfection. Remember, mistakes are okay.
Every wrong turn has brought you closer to where you are now. Every mistake has given you the knowledge you have now. Challenge yourself, give life a go, leave this unrealistic idea of perfection behind, and accept that some chapters in your life are there to get you to the next one. Transitioning to the next chapter is worth making a few mistakes for. The next chapter will take you closer to where you need to be.

Learn to love yourself a little harder.
If there was ever a time that you loved yourself too little, forgive yourself for accepting what you thought you deserved. Love yourself a little extra today and celebrate how far you have come, and how hard you have fought to get here. Promise yourself that you’ll never forget how you deserve to be loved, treated, and appreciated by others, and most importantly, by yourself.

Healing can be messy, but it’s deeply transformative and important.
It’s a mess but it’s a beautiful one. That’s the thing about healing. The end result is beautiful but the process is anything but. Healing is messy. It is confronting, confusing, conflicting, yet completely transformative. There is no timeline, you will heal precisely when you are ready to. Don’t give up just as it gets messy, because that is when the real work is done. Be patient and gentle with yourself in the process. Tell yourself that it does get better, day by day, even if you can’t see it or feel it right now. Sometimes you need to reopen an old wound to make peace with it, to accept that it is a part of who you are, and to trust that it does not define where you are heading.

Sometimes you need to let go of the people you love because they do not want the same things as you.
As hard as it can be, sometimes you need to decide to let go of one version of your future, to give yourself the future you have always imagined and deserved. The people you choose throughout this life are not always meant for you. Not because you don’t adore them, but because your paths don’t align.

Sometimes you have to let go of people you love to make room for loving yourself.
At some point in your life, you may need to let go of someone you love in order to love yourself the way you deserve to be loved.
