The Most Important Moments Are The Ones We Can’t Control
Intense excitement. Feeling oddly happy over nothing. Somewhat like an overwhelming joy. Unending happiness. What is it? It’s all nothing but euphoria.
Euphoria is a subjective feeling. It feeds on you and bleeds through you. There are times when you see it for yourself, like when you are sitting in your room just around sunset and everything seems perfect. The sun’s rays fall directly on the spot where you are, covering you in a tingling warmth and unexplainable joy. In this unexpected moment, thunder runs through your heart. A safe space, a warm blanket of love surrounds you. You suddenly feel like everything makes sense, even though it’s just a physically pleasing moment that tingles your senses. Everything just seems like a pathway to lead you to this perfectly synchronized instance. You feel in power; you don’t want the moment to end, but it does. It leaves you with the anticipation of more while drifting away. That is what makes the moment special. The inevitable ending of that sunset and its warmth makes it nothing less than a moment of pure magic.
At times we are walking down the lanes amidst our busy life when sudden yet strong raindrops hinder us. At first, we feel stuck, irritated, and strange about the feeling of it. To our surprise, within some mere moments, we start to like the feeling of it. We walk slowly, slow enough to reach our destination on time but with a constant desire to feel the happening of events in real-time. We start liking the rain. We even do a little dance to live the rainy moment to the fullest, or maybe look directly up at the sky. With the drops falling on our skin, we cherish the pure joy of being alive. Although it isn’t always the same for everyone. Sometimes, for some of us, the same rain gives us an opening to let our emotions flee. The ones that we are holding inside for long. We don’t hold back our tears at that moment and let the rain take away all our sorrows. Even if it’s a moment encompassing sadness, it still is a moment worth cherishing.
During harsh winter days, we sometimes get an unexpected break, so we curl up in our blanket and stick our cold feet together to fall into a sleep that feels like a mother’s touch. We think of something sweet and nice to enjoy that very moment to the fullest, so much that mostly we don’t even get out of our beds on cold winter days. It is an aroma of magic that we feel in all those sacred moments. A sense of our soul, its actual meaning, and the little joys of life that make us forget every other luxury of this world. Those feelings which don’t have a definite name are nothing but the euphoria of that given moment. You cannot control it, stop it, or predict it. You can just wait for it.
After all, euphoria isn’t euphoria until you don’t know how to name and explain it.
