Travis And Kourtney’s Fake Vegas Wedding Is Cringe But I Kind Of Love It?
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker got drunk and fake married at a chapel in Las Vegas following the Grammys on April 3rd.
The ceremony took place at 2 AM, was officiated by an Elvis impersonator, and there was no marriage license meaning the couple isn’t legally married. It’s as bizarre as it sounds but I also kind of love it?
The Internet buzzed with confusion following TMZ’s Tuesday report of the event, Kardashian finally took to Instagram to confirm the news herself Wednesday afternoon with a series of photos.
“Found these in my camera roll,” she writes in the caption. “Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect.”
The couple rocked matching leather jackets and the vibe was very much the burnouts who decided to go to prom after all but refused to adhere to the dress code because #punkrock.
At the same time, the fake ceremony shows the couple wants to have fun and celebrate their love in any way they can. Sometimes, love isn’t about the extravagant. Sometimes, the goofy, spontaneous moments bring you closest and help keep your love alive.
Or maybe they just want the PR. Who knows.
Anyway, I am too invested in their relationship and will talk to my therapist about why tomorrow during our weekly session.
