What Kind Of Ex They’ll Be, Based On Their Birth Order

Only Child

Only children are independent. They don’t need anyone else to survive because they’ve been taking care of themselves since a young age. This doesn’t mean breakups will be easy on them. But it does mean they’re going to go no-contact pretty fast. They will cut you out of their life entirely in order to give themselves space to heal. They won’t want to waste their time with someone who is unworthy of them. An only child is the least likely to get back together with you after a breakup because they are too mature to play games.

If you’re going to break up with an only child, make sure that you want the breakup to stick, because they won’t want to get back together in the future.

Oldest Child

If you break up with an oldest child, they aren’t going to leave the relationship quietly. They’re going to tell you exactly how they’re feeling and will not be silenced. Maybe this means they’ll be crying their eyes out in front of you or maybe it means they’ll be cursing you out — but either way, they aren’t going to keep their opinions to themselves. They are going to make you listen to them and then will ask you a ton of questions to gain closure. The breakup won’t happen quickly. It will take some time.

If you’re going to break up with an oldest child, make sure that you’re ready to articulate why because they are going to have a ton of questions for you.

Middle Child

Middle children tend to be competitive, so if you break up with one, they are going to want to win the breakup. They will post pictures about how much fun they’re having without you and make it look like they’ve moved on from the relationship much faster than they have in reality. Middle children love to have a good time, so after leaving a relationship, they’ll be out with their friends a ton. They’ll be making the most of the single life, even if they’re secretly suffering inside.

If you’re going to break up with a middle child, make sure that you mute them on social media because their posts could be upsetting to see.

Youngest Child

Youngest children tend to get spoiled, so they know their worth. They know what they deserve. So if you break up with them, they are going to get emotional over the fact that you’re the one leaving them. They will demand answers from you, and if you try to ghost them, they are going to keep texting and texting until you acknowledge their existence. Breaking up with a youngest child is rough because they are persistent. They won’t let you off easy.

If you’re going to break up with a youngest child, make sure that you’re ready to have a mature talk because running away won’t work.

Twin

Twins can struggle with breakups because they grew up having a ride-or-die with them every step of the way, and they were hoping that their person would become their new ride-or-die, that the relationship would withstand anything. So breakups can be a bit of a shock. It can be hard for them to distance themselves from someone they were so close to emotionally and physically. However, they are good at communicating and usually have strong support systems, so they will be okay in the end.

If you’re going to break up with a twin, make sure you stand your ground because they probably won’t be eager to part ways.
