3 Zodiacs Who Struggle With Romantic Intimacy

    Gemini

It’s no secret that Gemini has a fear of committing to one person. This is a sign who will stick around as long as the relationship stays fun and exciting. The moment it’s anything but, Gemini gets bored. Hating routine makes it difficult for this zodiac to want to maintain a steady connection. Gemini struggles with getting closer on a deeper level because they fear feeling confined. They tell themselves that they could be closing the door on a love better suited for them down the line—on the actual one. In reality, these are lies that they tell themselves in order to avoid admitting the fact that they’re afraid of vulnerability.

Gemini appears bold, self-confident, extroverted, and flirty—and they are—but they’re afraid of showing someone their truest selves. In their minds, there’s a darker side to their personality that they should keep hidden. Those born under this sign are chameleons who choose how they want to project themselves. They adapt their personalities around different people—a certain thing for each person. By choosing which sides of themselves to show, they’re protecting themselves from truly being known—and keeping themselves shielded from their true feelings. This isn’t a zodiac who is naturally comfortable with emotions and sensitivity, so they run away from those things.

Gemini has an affinity for more casual types of relationships with people who could never emotionally fulfill them. They do this because it’s safe. A person who couldn’t move them is one who couldn’t hurt them. Underneath it all, lies a loyal and devoted companion—one who deserves to give themselves a chance at a genuine connection.

    Virgo

Virgo’s intimacy issues stem from an unfounded sense of unworthiness. This zodiac sign is meticulous in nature and they have high standards for everyone and everything in life. However, there’s no one that they’re harder on than themselves. Virgo bends over backward striving for perfection, allowing themselves to bleed in the process of achieving it. In romance, their analytical nature causes them to overthink every tiny detail. It’s hard for them to open up because they fear exposing their vulnerabilities and self-perceived flaws.

Virgo is terrified of feeling judged and misunderstood. Letting someone see their imperfections only to be rejected is their nightmare. It would confirm their biggest fear—that they’re not good enough. So, they build a fortress around their heart and often put up a tough exterior. Underneath it all, they have a warm and soft heart—one who dreams of tender love. It’s just that they believe that being vulnerable could be a potential weakness.

When they do find themselves connecting with someone on a deeper level, they need a significant amount of time to process their emotions—and time to figure out if this is a person who can be trusted. Virgo needs to feel safe to let a potential mate in. They need the space to weigh out the pros and cons of allowing a person into their life (and into their heart). In order to tear down the barrier to forming meaningful connections, Virgo needs to be kinder and less judgmental of themselves. They have to learn how to accept themselves for all the good and all the ugly if they’re ever going to trust someone else to do the same.

    Scorpio

There’s nothing a Scorpio desires more than true intimacy—it’s also their biggest fear. It’s not that they’re incapable of connecting on a deeper, more emotional level. This is the most intense and passionate sign. Scorpio’s capacity for love and connection is endless. In fact, the kind of love they dream about is the spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally transcendent kind. For Scorpio, it’s a soul-merging type of love that they yearn for. The problem is that Scorpio believes everyone is out to hurt them, so they hold back.

They struggle with allowing themselves to be truly seen because when Scorpio loves, they give away a piece of themselves. Their romantic history is filled with a fair share of disappointment, betrayal, and heartbreak. Being hurt in love is soul-crushing for this sign, and it’s not something they’re easily willing to put themselves through again. By only allowing potential mates to see what they want them to see, Scorpio feels like they’re keeping themselves safe. Instead of connecting emotionally, Scorpio guards their heart by choosing physical intimacy. They lie to themselves by telling themselves that it’s enough to fulfill them, all the while aching for the real thing.

Often when they start to feel close to someone, they’ll self-sabotage to avoid any potential heartache down the line. Even in steady long-term relationships, Scorpio struggles with truly letting their partner in, keeping them at arm’s length. Many of Scorpio’s past loves could say that they never felt like they truly knew them. Until Scorpio works on their trust issues and past emotional wounds, they won’t know the beauty of a truly loving, healthy relationship.
