4 Birth Months Profoundly Connected To Mother Nature

The great thing about civilization and technology is that these human creations keep us safe from the ravages of nature. Although we may be the most intelligent species, we are also mutants in the sense that we are the least equipped to live in the natural world. Extremes of temperature and the unpredictable laws of the jungle are the reasons that humans fled the Garden of Eden and created shelters and technological gizmos for themselves in the first place.

But the worst thing about civilization and technology is that they have also uprooted us from our natural habitat, creating the sort of stress and alienation that simply don’t exist out in the wild. Although we gained a bit of comfort and safety by cocooning ourselves from nature, we also lost something raw and primal about ourselves. From time to time, we all need to reconnect with nature so that we don’t go stark raving mad.

Some people, however, crave that natural connection more than others. Here are the four birth months with the deepest need to get away from the supermarket and back into the garden.

February

Whether it’s a cabin in the woods or an island bungalow, February-born individuals paradoxically feel most at home when they are far away from home but much closer to nature. Only when they are out amid clean air, rich soil, and crystal-blue water do they reconnect with that ancient part of themselves that feels out of place among urban congestion, technological overload, and the strange alienation that comes from being surrounded by too many people. Only when they’re immersed in the sounds of chirping birds, rolling waves, and crackling fires are they truly able to hear themselves think.

May

May-born individuals only feel grounded when they can actually see the ground, when it isn’t buried beneath cement, asphalt, storefronts, and neon signs. They prefer food plucked straight from the earth rather than processed and packaged. They’d rather listen to nature’s quiet, eternal symphony than drown it out with artificial noise. They’d choose the canyons of Arizona over the skyscrapers of Manhattan any day. More than most, they understand that no matter how many conveniences modern life provides, the human soul begins to starve when it loses touch with the natural roots that gave birth to all living things.

October

No amount of human interaction, no matter how loving or fulfilling, can soothe October-born individuals the way quietly communing with nature can. It’s not that they dislike people; it’s simply that every so often, they need to face pure beauty without the distractions, tension, and emotional weight that relationships can bring. They delight in the sight of flowers blooming in spring, a baby deer drinking from a mountain creek in summer, the vibrant colors of autumn leaves, or snow-covered rolling hills in winter. They find deep comfort knowing that whenever they need to step away from the crowd, nature is always waiting to restore them.

December

As natural adventurers, December-born individuals grow restless when they stay in one place for too long. Whenever they have the chance to escape their usual environment, they avoid visiting the same place twice. They seek excitement and discovery in nature, often venturing into landscapes that test their limits. A hiking trip deep into the redwoods with no Wi-Fi for days? A scuba-diving expedition along the Great Barrier Reef among dazzling coral and dangerous predators? Scaling cold, wind-battered mountain peaks? December-born individuals are already packing their bags.
