6 Concrete Signs You’re Falling Out Of Love
If you’re not paying attention, falling out of love is a slow, creeping process, until you realize all at once that you no longer have these intense romantic feelings for your partner. But maybe you can figure out the signs ahead of time so you aren’t left in shock at the revelation. Are you fallout out of love? Check these sometimes subtle signs below.
1. You no longer feel like a “we.”
People in your life might have already caught onto this one before you have. Where you used to say “we will be there,” “we were thinking…” the “we” has now been replaced with “I.” Whether you know it or not, your subconscious has already started separating you from your partner.
2. Everything they do irritates you.
All those cute little quirks? Yeah, they’re not cute anymore. While this isn’t necessarily definitive proof on it’s own–after all, we get annoyed with people we love all the time–it’s a major red flag when coupled with everything else on this list.
3. You feel like you’ve grown in different directions.
Everyone changes with time. You change because you strive to be better. You change from trauma. You change over the span of years without even noticing it’s happening. Some couples change in a similar direction, but if you feel like you don’t even fit together anymore, you’ve drifted apart.
4. You feel empty.
You aren’t full of love anymore. You aren’t filled with happiness, contentment. When you think of your partner, you just feel empty. If you feel empty in general, this could be depression. But if you’re only feeling empty when you think of your relationship, your mind is telling you that you’ve fallen out of love.
5. You dream of a life without them.
Your fantasies, once full of things you could do together as a couple, now have a notable absence. Your daydream about doing things on your own, and not with your partner. If you can’t even picture yourself with this person anymore, it might be time for a breakup.
6. You can’t remember the last time they made you feel happy.
You once felt so happy. You felt so privileged waking up next to them every day. But if you really think about it, when was the last time you felt truly happy being with them? This is your sign to make a change.
