4 Sublime Sages Of The Zodiac

A sage is someone who contains profound wisdom, often without a clear explanation. They aren’t your doctors, rocket scientists, or PhD.’s, but they tap into a deep understanding that seems like it took a lifetime to acquire. While we may think of sages as the hermits or bearded old men from ancient history and mythology, these four sublime sages of the zodiac walk among us, even today.

Pisces

Pisces always feel like they were either born in the wrong century, or are on their fifth reincarnation. Their outward appearance never seems to match up with their mental and emotional maturity. They see things coming from a mile away, often when others have hardly noticed anything, and they can analyze social patterns at such a high level, that they never take things personally. They just kind of clock out and do their own thing while people are going through life’s different phases.

You’ll never catch them partaking in pre-teen bullying, solipsistic emo moping, or racing their friends and enemies to the altar or the delivery room, but you will see them, observing these rights of passage, and consoling friends who are stuck in the cross-fire, from the sidelines. People will seek them out specifically for their separation from the chaos, begging them to reveal the secret to their zen-like happiness.

Capricorn

Capricorns share the most with the monk-like sages who made books by hand in the 6th century. They don’t shy away from grueling or repetitive tasks where there is high pressure to avoid mistakes. Capricorns can just put their heads down and lose themselves in the rhythm of a vocation, going deep into on area of focus. They don’t get distracted by what everyone else is doing, or the new shiny thing taking the masses by storm. They buckle in for the long haul, and are content with their own lives.

So of course everyone wants to know their secrets. Everyone wants to know how they can get on Capricorn’s level and find the same satisfaction and belonging in their own lives. Capricorn may be tight-lipped as a sage, because they’re not really interested in dispensing advice, but if the right person comes along, and asks in a sincere way, they may be tempted to bestow the sublime light of their wisdom upon them.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius is a wandering sage, like Professor Marvel in The Wizard of Oz. They may come across as a bit of a drifter, a grifter, a gypsy, and beyond, but they’re really just on an endless journey, seeking the riches of lived experience. They prioritize that intangible wisdom over material goods, home ownership, or a stable job or routine. They aren’t afraid of life’s inconsistencies, its inexplicable certitudes, or undiscoverable (perhaps lack) of purpose. They concern themselves with what can be discovered, conveyed, and described, often in writing or art.

People flock to them because they want to live vicariously through Sagittarius. The ones who are too scared to ever leave their small town want to hear stories of far-off lands, tales of exploration, adventures of overcoming adversity. They want the adrenaline and exhilaration of that life, without taking any risks themselves. A brave few may want Sagittarius’ approval and approbation, confirmation that they too are capable of leaving their comfort zone behind.

Leo

Leo is the fortune teller sage of the zodiac. They can look into your eyes and read your life story—that’s how strong their inherent perception of human nature is. They can detect emotions, intentions, aspirations, and longings from a mile away, and most importantly, empathize with them in a gentle and caring way. Everyone wants to open up to a Leo, to experience the ego-boost of being seen and understood, often for the first time in their lives at this level. That’s why you’ll see Leos surrounded by a court of admirers or followers.

But underneath it all is a sense of boredom. People are so predictable and self-motivated that a Leo is always searching for novelties in their world.
