Before September Ends, Ask the Universe for More Than Just Enough
As September comes to a close, give yourself permission to ask the universe for more than another month you manage to get through. Ask for a life with enough generosity in it that you have something left to enjoy. The end of a month gives you a moment to pause, to notice what sustained you and what you kept wishing would be different. Those wishes deserve your attention.
You may feel grateful for the life you have and still hesitate when someone asks whether you are happy. There are good things here. You can name them. You would never want your longing to suggest that they do not matter. Yet gratitude becomes a difficult place to live when you use it to silence every desire for something more. Appreciating the love you receive does not make wanting deeper connection a betrayal. Being glad you can pay your bills does not mean financial ease is too much to ask for.
Abundance can mean having money left after the necessities, and energy left after the workday. It can mean taking your time over dinner because nothing needs to be rushed. It can mean being loved with a warmth you feel throughout the week, having flowers in a room you spend most of your time in, making plans because you are excited about them. There is so much worth wanting beyond the relief of having survived another difficult stretch.
Let yourself ask for the home you would be delighted to wake up in. For a love whose generosity still surprises you. For fulfilling work that pays well and leaves you free to enjoy the rest of your life. Include the friendship, the journey, the peace you have been treating as distant possibilities. You are allowed to want these things while they are still far from your circumstances. You are allowed to enjoy imagining them.
In these last days of September, spend a little time with the wishes you usually dismiss before you finish expressing them. Write down what you would love to receive. Let the request be wholehearted, even if the answer is uncertain. Asking the universe for more can be a quiet, honest act of faith: this is what would bring me joy, and I am willing to take that joy seriously.
Ask for overflow. Let the month end with a fuller expression of what you want from being alive. You can carry that hope into the next one.
