The 6 Personality Traits Of A Bare Minimum Man
Here are the six personality traits that let you know you’re dealing with a bare minimum man.
1. Emotionally unavailable
One of the biggest signs that he is a bare minimum man is that he is emotionally unavailable. Essentially, he never talks about his feelings (or yours). He refuses to open up about his emotions and is nowhere to be found if you ever need emotional support.
2. Non-committal
He won’t put a label on your relationship because he wants to just “go with the flow” and “see what happens.” His commitment issues extend beyond your situationship, however. Making plans is nearly impossible with him. He keeps you waiting until the last minute before he lets you know if he wants to see you.
3. Poor communication skills
Both when it comes to talking and listening. He never seems to know how to explain what he’s feeling. He forgets important details you mentioned because he wasn’t listening in the first place. He doesn’t text or call back in an appropriate way and you are always left guessing when you’re going to hear from him again. On that note…
4. Inconsistent
Basically, you never know what version of him you’re going to get on a given day. You are never entirely sure when you’ll get a text back from him or if you will receive any word from him at all. He is constantly switching up his behavior, communication style, and presence. It’s absolutely exhausting.
5. Self-involved
A bare minimum man is all about himself, and no one else. Everything is on his terms only and about his own convenience. Most conversations revolve around him and his issues. He pretty much never asks you questions or seems particularly interested about you and your life.
6. Defensiveness
Nothing is ever his fault. You’re always overreacting or being demanding or asking for too much. He flat out denies any accountability for his mistakes because somehow it’s always your problem and because of something you “did.”
