8 Signs He’s Getting Bored Of The Relationship

The biggest sign that he’s getting bored of the relationship is that his behavior has changed drastically from the way he used to act. Here are a few examples that could signal he’s getting bored of the relationship. (However, a conversation never hurts because you could still be misreading the situation! Remember, communication is key.)

All he does is stare at his phone when you’re together.

On dates, you should be spending quality time together. You should both be acting present and enjoying each other’s company. Your partner shouldn’t be staring at his phone, texting someone else or scrolling through social media the whole time. This could be a sign that he’s bored and wishes that he was doing something else, but that’s not a reflection on you. Remember, it takes two people to make a relationship work. It’s not your job to entertain him.

He suddenly can’t hang out with you as much as usual.

If he’s not able to meet up with you as much anymore, even though nothing about his schedule has changed, then it could be an indication that he’s not eager to see you. In a serious relationship, you’ll need space from time to time, but a good chunk of your routine will be spent together. Even doing mundane things like grocery shopping or watching TV will be better when you’re side-by-side. So if he doesn’t want to hang out at all, that could be a sign a breakup is on the horizon.

He takes longer to text back than usual, with no excuse.

If he used to answer you within seconds and now it’s hours until you hear from him, he could be growing bored. Unless he’s busy working or has a new responsibility that wasn’t on his plate in the past, this shift in behavior means that answering you isn’t his first priority at the moment. While you can’t expect any partner to text back within seconds, there’s nothing unreasonable about expecting an answer within an hour or two.

He’s completely checked out during your conversations.

If he cares about your thoughts and opinions, then he should be actively engaging in your conversations and asking questions. If he seems like he isn’t interested in listening to you, no matter what topic you jump to, then maybe there’s something else on his mind that’s occupying him. Or maybe he’s grown bored. The only way you can know for sure is if you ask what’s wrong.

He stops giving you as many compliments.

Sometimes, people grow complacent when they’ve been in a relationship for a while. They might not think to compliment you as much because they assume you already know how they feel. However, this could also be a sign that they are growing bored of the relationship and aren’t actually picking up on the little changes you make to your appearance and the effort that you’ve been putting in.

He stops acting touchy-feely.

Sometimes, people need their space. Sometimes, their libidos will increase or decrease throughout the year. But if they suddenly don’t want to hold your hand or hug you when that’s never been a problem before, there’s a chance they’re considering a breakup.

He seems distracted during conversations (and sex).

When you’re together, his focus should be on you. Getting distracted every once in a while is natural, but if this is happening constantly and you feel like you can never hold his attention, he might be slowly checking out of the relationship. Remember, you deserve someone who is there with you in the moment and makes you feel wanted.

He stops putting effort into how he dresses and stops planning dates.

When he gets bored, he’ll stop spending time on you. He’ll stop putting effort into making you happy. He’ll stop giving you what you need. And that’s unfair to you. You deserve so much more.
