Single? Here’s How You Should Spend Valentine’s Day, Based On Your Birth Month

January

Ask out your crush. You have the magnetic energy that means you’ll likely get a yes. And even if you don’t you can at least celebrate Valentine’s Day knowing that you tried. If anyone can bounce back from something like this, it’s you.

February

Binge your favorite rom-coms. Nothing fits the holiday better than a movie marathon. Pick up all your favorite snacks, order in from your favorite restaurant, and let all the romance wash over you. Invite friends, do it alone, whatever makes you happy.

March

Go to a singles’ mixer. Look around your town for any singles-specific events. Some bars have singles nights, others have speed-dating. If you’re nervous, bring a fellow single friend along for moral support.

April

Make yourself a candle-lit dinner. You’re your own Valentine, so date yourself like you’d want someone else to date you. Cook a fancy dinner, make your favorite dessert. You don’t have to be in a relationship to have a romantic Valentine’s Day.

May

Have a spa day. Pamper yourself like you would your partner, if you had one. We’re talking breakfast in bed followed by a luxurious bath with bubbles, candles and rose petals. Finish the day with a deep moisturizing face mask. You’re worth it.

June

Spend the day with your best friend instead. Who needs a romantic partner when you have the platonic love of your life right there? Make it a special day for the two of you, doing all of your favorite things.

July

Get dressed up and find something fun to do. Get as dolled-up as you can and hit the town. Even if you’re doing normal stuff like getting coffee at a café or perusing books at the library, that extra effort will make you feel like the shining star that you are.

August

Have a movie marathon with anything but rom-coms. It’s a no-love night for you. Binge horror movies, crime thrillers, raunchy comedies, sci-fi epics, and disaster films. After all, there’s more to life than following someone around like a puppy.

September

Completely unplug from social media and have an analog day at home. Watching all your friends post their cute Valentine’s Day photos on Insta might sting a little too much today. Turn off your phone and enjoy life away from the Internet. Read a book, make art, eat good food.

October

Throw a Valentine’s Day party. You love spending time with friends and aren’t all that hung up on the fact that you’re single. So deck out your apartment in pink and red hearts and invite everyone you know–including the ones who have coupled-up.

November

Throw an Anti-Valentine’s Day party. Love sucks. Host a Valentine’s party for everyone who feels the same way. Decorate in broken hearts and black roses. Celebrate the fact that you’re all single–and how great it is to be unattached.

December

Go out on the town and find your next partner. Get dressed up and hit the clubs or bars. Attend the parties your friends are throwing. Make it your mission to end the night with at least one prospective date. You aren’t going to be single for much longer.
