How Each Zodiac Sign Can Heal Deep Trauma While Chiron Is In Retrograde (7/30/2025 – 1/2/2026)
Tiny Chiron, known as the ‘wounded healer’, is an asteroid-comet chimera (called a ‘centaur’), that wields an oversized influence!
Every year when it goes retrograde for five months it gives us space to do deep trauma-healing work, if we’re open and capable of taking advantage of its energies. In Greek mythology, Chiron raised by Apollo and Artemis, and unlike other centaurs who were more wild he was knowledgeable and cultured. A healer and astrologer, he became a mentor to many, including Achilles. Though he was a talented healer, he wasn’t able to heal the wound made by Hercules pricking him with an arrow poised with the blood of the Hydra. In some tellings of the myth of Prometheus, Chiron offered up his immortality in order to free Prometheus, and was then put among the stars by his half-brother Zeus.
That’s why it’s believed that when Chiron moves retrograde in the sky it gives us space and time to work on healing past traumas, even those long-standing, deep wounds. Much like other retrogrades, Chiron in retrograde invites introspection instead of action. Chiron retrograde in Aries invites us to consider what warriors we were before the world got to us, who we were in the earliest state. We are asked to consider what wounds we endured, and how we adjusted ourselves and our expectations of the world because of them.
