What You Need To Let Go Of Right Now, According To Your Zodiac + Tarot

Aries

Your Card: The Emperor

What’s interesting about you receiving The Emperor card, Aries, is that this is your assigned tarot card. With that said, start to let go of the need to apologize for who you are. Now that eclipse season has come to a close, start embracing yourself and not feeling like you owe it to everyone else to be something or someone that you are not. We often feel that growth means changing who we are into a completely different person; however, sometimes growth means embracing who we truly are. They say to fake it till you make it, but sometimes we fake it so much that we don’t recognize who we are anymore. This adage doesn’t mean we should destroy our core selves but rather not be afraid to express our true selves. That is what confidence is. Aries, you don’t have to be like this person or that person. You just have to be yourself and embrace that.

Taurus

Your Card: The Lovers

Many associate The Lovers card with the literal idea of falling in love with another person. But this card runs deeper than that. The Lovers card speaks to the duality of man and the duality of life. This idea that for everything good or positive that comes to us, there are equal parts bad or negative that also comes with it. One’s willingness to embrace this duality has to do with perspective. With that said, yes, love is a wonderful thing, and to love and be loved is one of the greatest joys a person can experience in this life. But with love comes pain because everything exists on a spectrum. The point I’m trying to make, Taurus, is that you might find yourself running from love because of the chances of getting hurt again. But the thing is, love is always going to hurt in one way or another. That’s just life. That doesn’t mean that loving that person makes them wrong for you. It’s not realistic to think so black and white all the time. This card could pertain to a relationship, a friendship, or a family member. The fact of the matter is that the people we care about the most are often the ones that hurt us the most, but that’s not because they’re bad for us, it’s just because we’re human and none of us are perfect. I’m not advocating for a toxic dynamic, let that not be mistaken. But what I am saying is to let go of the fear of getting hurt. This is how we as individuals grow and forge a stronger bond with the right people.

Gemini

Your Card: Page of Cups

Gemini, with the Page of Cups, let go of what you think life should be according to you and embrace life for what it is. Life is never going to look exactly the way that we want it to be. Life is just… life. Cliché, I know. Spare me, I’m just reading the cards. But it’s true, disappointment stems from desire. We feel disappointed when we do not get the things that we desire. So let me ask you this: Are you disappointed because of life? Or are you disappointed because you chose to feel this way? We have very little control over our environment but we do have some control over ourselves and how we choose to perceive life and the situations we find ourselves in. It’s easy to focus on the things we don’t have as opposed to taking notice of the things that we do have. It’s better to live life in gratitude than to live in disappointment. If you choose to continue feeling disappointment, I can almost guarantee you that you’ll never know true happiness, because even if you do get the things that you want, you’ll still find ways to focus on what you don’t have.

Cancer

Your Card: Two of Cups

The Two of Cups, which has to do with a strong emotional connection, indicates to me that it’s time to let go of the fantasy and this idea of this person you’ve built up in your head and accept them for the human being that they are. That’s not to say that this person isn’t perfect for you, whether it be a friendship or a relationship. What I’m saying is that true completeness comes from within, and perhaps you’re letting go of this idea that for you to feel whole, you must be connected to someone else. The work comes from within, Cancer. You can’t expect a person who isn’t you to fix how you feel about yourself and your place in this world. While yes, it is nice to have the company as we journey along through life, they are just as much human as you are. Only you can fix yourself from within. No one else can do that for you. Let go of needing to find completion from external validation and connection otherwise you’ll always end up disappointed.

Leo

Your Card: Two of Swords

Perhaps you feel as if somehow you always find yourself embroiled in some sort of drama, Leo. Whether it involves you or not, you’re still a part of it in some way or another. But being involved in such pettiness is only a detriment to yourself and your well-being. Trust me, I love gossip just as much as the next person, but at the same time, there is bliss in ignorance. You don’t need to know every person’s opinions on the matter, and they don’t always need to know your opinions. You may fear that if life isn’t always constantly filled with drama and chaos, then it’s boring. But this isn’t true. You’ve grown accustomed to the chaos, and as a result, you find the idea of peace eery. Sometimes it’s best to just remove yourself from the situation and say less because oftentimes our words are spun in an entirely incorrect way. Now that eclipse season has passed, it’s time to let go of the bullshit and maintain your peace. Find comfort in peace. Find excitement in peace. Remove yourself from the negativity before it continues to plague you and embroil your worldview in heat.

Virgo

Your Card: Seven of Pentacles

With the Seven of Pentacles, Virgo, your message is straightforward; let go of the fear of failure. The Seven of Pentacles has to do with the idea that success requires sustained endurance to carry us through. The hard truth is that there truly is no finish line in life. Life just keeps going and going. There is no true end goal. Once we achieve the things that we want, oftentimes it still requires work to keep it. But it’s the idea of failure that keeps you in this place of limbo. This idea that even if you get the place that you want to go, you’ll somehow fuck it up at some point and ruin everything. But you will fuck up, and that’s okay. Fucking up isn’t bad, it’s what you do in the face of those mistakes that matter. It’s how you choose to overcome those failures that matters most. What’s worse than failing is never trying at all.

Libra

Your Card: Queen of Swords

Libra, you’re one of the first people to give others the benefit of the doubt. However, lately, it seems many have been taking advantage of your kindness and your goodwill. The Queen of Swords is a sign that while it is important to be empathetic towards others and understand where they are coming from, this is not an excuse for them to cross your boundaries. At a certain point, it just becomes selfishness and it gives others this idea that they can take advantage of you because they have in the past. With the passing of eclipse season, either let go of the people who leave you feeling empty are start communicating respectfully that you will no longer be as forgiving and accommodating. You deserve to be heard just as much as they do. And if certain people see this as a sign of selfishness, don’t take this as a reflection of yourself but rather a reflection of who they truly are. The right people will understand and work to meet you halfway. The wrong people will only feel frustrated with the fact that you are no longer willing to let them take advantage of you.

Scorpio

Your Card: Six of Wands

Don’t feel like you have to make yourself smaller just to make other people feel better about themselves. That’s on them, not on you. If other people feel some type of way because you’re accomplishing a certain level of success or you’ve done better for yourself after many trials and tribulations, then that’s on them. The Six of Wands has to do with a healthy dose of pride and not feeling the need to overly humble yourself out of fear of judgment. This is an insecurity that you need to let go of. Be proud of yourself and where you find yourself right now, Scorpio. Shine bright and the right people will take notice. Now is the time for you to stand tall and proud. Embrace your inner confidence because it’ll only carry you further.

Sagittarius

Your Card: Four of Pentacles

With the Four of Pentacles here, Sagittarius, it seems you’re embracing some negative tendencies associated with status and materialism. You’ve reached a point in your life where based on appearances, you possess this image of an almost “perfect life”. And though this may not be the case, you feel righteous in this appearance. As if because you’ve reached this point in your life, you know better than everyone else. No one is doing life right because they’re doing it like you. But there is a difference between confidence and arrogance. No one is doing life perfectly. The perfect life doesn’t exist. And because you are holding on so tightly to appearances, when life throws a wrench in the mix, you might be trying desperately to hide this from the people around you. There is a sense of toxic positivity present. With all that said, perhaps you should start letting go of this arrogance. You’re just as flawed as everybody else and instead of focusing on what everybody else is doing wrong, perhaps ask yourself if you’re being honest with yourself.

Capricorn

Your Card: Ten of Swords

You seem to be harboring a lot of resentment towards the people who have done you wrong, Capricorn. I completely understand how painful betrayal can feel and how unfair it is to you, but that hatred and resentment is only going to hurt you at the end of the day. Don’t let them win. They want you to feel down. They want to see you suffer. They want to see you fail. If you want to get the people who have hurt you most back, the best form of revenge is forgiveness and a level of success that fulfills only you. Being ostentatious for the sake of other people’s approval does nothing for you at the end of the day. Don’t be performative. Don’t sink to their level of pettiness and toxicity. The best reaction is no reaction at all. Plotting your “revenge” is merely an indication that they have won by bringing you down. They have shown their true colors but this doesn’t have anything to do with you and how you choose to move forward. Focus on yourself, the right people will come along and support you.

Aquarius

Your Card: Six of Cups

The Six of Cups is a sign that perhaps it’s time to let go of the past. You might be in the midst of a big life transition and as a result, you’re letting go of a period that was filled with fun and happy memories that you wish to relive. But nothing is meant to last forever. Don’t think, Aquarius, life will never be as exciting as it was before. Know that there are plenty of good times still left to be had, but for this to happen, you must embrace the change. Life is going to look very different from this point on, I won’t lie to you. However, just because it’s going to be different doesn’t mean you won’t find the same level of contentment.

Pisces

Your Card: Ten of Cups

With the Ten of Cups present, Pisces, it is a sign that perhaps you should let go of this idea that you don’t deserve the good that comes to you. Know that the good things in your life have found you for a reason. Don’t push it away. Embrace it and accept things for what they are. I think it’s easy, for you especially, to convince yourself that everything good must come with some level of conditions. In other words, “What’s the catch?” Sometimes there isn’t a catch, and bending over backwards to find the red flags in any given situation may just turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Let things unfold as they should—don’t allow your thoughts to get the better of you.
