Why This Stereotype About Your Zodiac Sign Is Probably True

ARIES

While you may not be the type of person to fly off the handle at every minor inconvenience, your fiery temperament shows itself in smaller ways. Think of any moment where you felt that you’ve been misunderstood by somebody, Aries. Wasn’t there a part of you that felt so uncomfortable by this that you just had to correct them? Or, didn’t you at least come very close to doing so? That is a whisper of your inner fire, letting you know that it has your back if you ever need to utilize it.

TAURUS

Taureans are said to enjoy the finer things in life–delicious meals and fancy drinks, material items, fine art, and being pampered are some of those things. You may look at this list and think I don’t need any of that to feel happy. But don’t you like having your living space in a particular way? Doesn’t it make you feel unbelievably good to relax in a pair of comfy pajamas in front of a book or the tv after a long day of work? Your love of luxury is still there, it’s your definition of “luxury” that’s up to interpretation.

GEMINI

The alleged social butterfly of any gathering, Geminis are said to be natural conversationalists, adept at juggling multiple discussions in person and via text message at the same time. Of course, not every Gemini wants to be surrounded by a gaggle of people at all times. But, even so, even if you’re only having a conversation with one person, aren’t you keenly aware of how to keep it alive even when it’s dead? Aren’t you good at reading the vibes and responding to them? That isn’t a coincidence.

CANCER

In nearly every description of a Cancer, you’ll read something about their hypersensitivity. This is often interpreted as crying loudly and frequently over unimportant events which, while true for some people (not just Cancers!), doesn’t always reflect reality. Think of “hypersensitivity” in other contexts–don’t you ever feel so in tune with how you’re feeling that you’re able to diagnose what’s going on in your body? Aren’t you the one your friends come to when in distress because you know their feelings better than they do?

LEO

Leos are allegedly willing to do anything to stay in the social spotlight, seeking attention wherever it may be. While this desire to be publicly relevant isn’t necessarily the lived experience of every Leo, their need to be noticed certainly is. Leos can’t stand the feeling of being invisible and unappreciated by the people in their lives. Don’t you ever feel the need to be liked, even adored, by the people in your life, even though you know that to expect love from everyone is unrealistic? That’s your inner Leo, trying to keep you happy.

VIRGO

Both critical and judgmental, Virgos are often associated with a number of traits referring to their pickiness. This doesn’t mean that Virgos are going around, tearing other people apart just for the fun of it. What it really indicates is that they feel most comfortable when they know what to expect from the world, especially if it matches up with their own reality. Virgo, don’t you see the beauty in routine, and find peace in meeting expectations? That’s your “critical side,” manifesting in a gentler light.

LIBRA

Decisions, decisions. They say you can’t make them, Libra, and you’ve probably been annoyed by that statement. I can make decisions, you’ve probably thought to yourself. And, yes, you can. It’s not often that you’re literally frozen, unable to make a choice–but here’s the catch: even after you’ve decided, years later, don’t you still weigh your options and try to figure out if you really, truly, did the right thing? Your choices haunt you, Libra. Even when it’s easy to go one way, you obsess over what could’ve been.

SCORPIO

Scorpio, you may find it difficult to believe that you are so incredibly secretive and private that you don’t let anybody in. You’ve had plenty of intimate relationships (platonic included) in your life, where you feel like you were able to be honest when a moment called for it. But, Scorpio, how honest? Did you say how you felt, or did you just tell them what happened to you? There’s a difference between laying down all of your cards and just flashing them around for a brief second, isn’t there?

SAGITTARIUS

Freedom and mutability are two traits of Sagittarius that come up again and again. You may be thinking, Sagittarius, that there’s nothing you like more than stability. A place that you can come home to at the end of the night, where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself. But don’t you ever feel restless? A tug at your heart asking if this life is really the one that’s best for you? Those are not the idle, passing thoughts that every person has. That’s your unconscious, hoping for a new adventure.

CAPRICORN

Capricorns like to be in charge, or so the astrology articles say. Maybe you prefer to fade into the background of your career or community, think of yourself as a follower first. But what happens in situations when you have no agency at all, Capricorn? When your ability to make decisions for yourself is taken away and your only option is to answer to somebody else? I’m willing to bet that it makes your blood boil. Even if you’re not a leader for the masses, you feel most comfortable when you can lead yourself.

AQUARIUS

Born with a great desire to change the world, Aquarians are often thought of as serious thinkers and problem-solvers. To anybody living an average, Aquarius life, working a job that doesn’t particularly fulfill them, making and consuming art in the off-hours, this description may not feel true. But, Aquarius, remember that so much of change is just noticing what’s wrong and being able to identify the root cause. Even if you aren’t making waves in your community, seeing and discussing the issues within it is indicative of a desire to change it.

PISCES

Dreamy. Out of touch. Self-centered. These are buzzwords and phrases that often surface in depictions of Pisces. Sure, there are plenty of Pisceans that are able to get down to business, and remain firmly in reality in order to accomplish their day-to-day tasks. But in the quiet moments, don’t you have a tendency to think deeply about how you move through the world? Haven’t you ever looked up dream interpretations after waking? These aren’t practices that just anybody partakes in. It’s okay to accept that some of your stereotypes are true.
