It Takes Strength To Have A Soft Heart In This World

It’s hard to stay soft in a world that is filled with so much pain. You should be proud of yourself for having such strong morals, for leading with kindness, for continuing to love with your whole heart. You shouldn’t feel ashamed of how much you care. You should be excited by the fact you still have such a big heart, even after everything that you’ve been through. You haven’t let this world destroy your spirit.

After all, it would be so much easier to push everyone else away and isolate yourself. It would be so much easier to decide that you aren’t going to play nice anymore and treat strangers with the same hostility you’ve been met with in the past. Hardening yourself is easy. Staying soft in a world that keeps hurting you is hard.

You should be proud of yourself for treating others with respect, for treating them with decency, for treating them like a friend whenever they need you. You never let your past get in the way of the kind of person you want to be. You won’t let toxic humans taint your view on humanity. You won’t let your baggage convince you that everyone is untrustworthy and cruel. You still believe there are good people out there – and you are one of them. You are doing the best that you can, even though you keep getting knocked down. No matter what, you always get back up again.

Some people might act like your kindness is a weakness, but it’s one of the biggest strengths you could possibly have. It takes strength to find new reasons to smile, even when everything around you is falling apart. It takes strength to be there for your loved ones, even when you’re struggling with your own issues. It takes strength to be a good person when it would be so much easier to lock away your heart and throw away the key.

It’s becoming harder and harder to remain a soft-hearted person in this modern world. You should be proud of yourself for holding onto your soft side. You should be proud that you haven’t let this world turn you into someone you’re not. That doesn’t happen to everyone, which means you’re doing better than you think. You should give yourself some credit.

Remember, it takes strength to do the right thing, even when it’s so much easier to take shortcuts and cheat and lie. It takes strength to fight for what you believe in, even though others aren’t giving you the respect you deserve. It takes strength to be a good person in a world that has hurt you so many times in a row, so many times in this past year alone.

Even though others might not appreciate your kindness, you should be proud of yourself. Give yourself some credit because you are doing the unthinkable. You are staying soft in a hard, cruel world. You’re not letting anything get you down.
