The Trauma Each Zodiac Carries (+ Tarot Guidance For Healing)

Everyone carries some hurt, which means we all have a bit of traumatic stress that has impacted us and our lives.

In order to create our best selves and live the most fulfilling lives we can, it’s imperative that we learn to understand how our lives have been impacted by trauma and what we can do to move forward and heal. While difficult and traumatic events can be life-changing, healing can, too.

Aries

Your Card: 7 of Wands. I know this sounds strange, but there are ways in which vulnerability can be a superpower, Aries, and the bravery that it takes to give voice to a difficult truth (even when your voice is trembling) can’t be understated. I’d encourage you, however, to practice safe vulnerability. Be prepared to be protective of yourself. Speaking your truth can cause challenge to the narratives that others carry and may cause them to lash out. 

Taurus

Your Card: 6 of Wands. It can be hard to work through some of the feelings that healing trauma can bring on, and one of the great ways you can inspire yourself is by recognizing your successes, Taurus. It might be a good time to consider creating a “Way To Go!” folder in your email (or print them out for your vision board!). When you’re feeling down, or uncertain, remind yourself of all you’ve accomplished.

Gemini

Your Card: 7 of Pentacles. Give yourself some grace, Gemini. Healing takes time, and there’s simply no rushing it. Instead of focusing on how things are in the future, allow yourself to acknowledge how far you’ve come, and how much better things are for you now. Be confident that you’re headed in the right direction, and give yourself the space and encouragement you need to continue to heal and grow.

Cancer

Your Card: Temperance, Reversed. Emotional dysregulation and imbalance are common symptoms of a traumatic experience, and it’s one of the things you’ll be reckoning with, Cancer. Get to know how you can best ground and soothe yourself through these difficult experiences. Steer yourself away from choices that are all or nothing, or that require you to take a path of extremes. It’s easier to focus on the healing you need to do when things are balanced and stable. 

Leo

Your Card: Queen of Swords. Your thoughtfulness and ability to see the larger picture is going to work in your favor as you start the latest round of your healing process, Leo. Since you’re able to make an unbiased assessment of what you endured and validate yourself and the emotions you experienced, it will ultimately help you navigate towards your best self. When in doubt, especially when mired in some of your more challenging feelings, remember to seek that mental clarity so you can guide yourself toward healing.

Virgo

Your Card: Queen of Cups, Reversed. There’s a big difference between being emotionally grounded and trying to control your emotions, Virgo. Part of your challenge on your healing path is learning to allow yourself to feel those emotions while simultaneously feeling grounded. It can be scary, especially for you, to let yourself be guided by your feelings, but when it comes to understanding how to heal, they know best. Give yourself the same love and compassion that you offer to others.

Libra 

Your Card: 2 of Wands. Focusing on your future, and your future plans is a great way for you to engage in healing your trauma, Libra. We can’t change our past, but we can certainly change our relationship to it, and use the lessons that we learned to create a better future for ourselves. Keep your vision centered on the possibilities, and cultivate the kind of confident mindset that can become your ‘comfort zone’ as you take on new challenges. 

Scorpio

Your Card: Page of Wands. One of the best ways for you to heal your trauma is to work through your creativity, Scorpio. Using your creative ideas and fire to help both capture and cleanse some of your more difficult feelings is a fantastic outlet to help open your heart after so much pain. Let yourself feel the boundless enthusiasm that comes with your creative endeavors, and let what you make help you to feel more empowered to face and heal your traumas.

Sagittarius

Your Card: 2 of Pentacles. Unfortunately, you have a lot of obligations on your plate at the moment, Sagittarius, so you need to make sure that you balance your needs with the promises that you’ve made. Ensure that you give yourself enough time not just for self-care, but for the type of introspection you need to keep progressing your healing. Be mindful about anything additional that you bring into your life right now.

Capricorn

Your Card: Knight of Cups. It’s time for you to go all in on your feelings, Capricorn, and look to the power of love to help you heal your wounds. You may find yourself being a bit more vulnerable and wearing your heart on your sleeve as you sort out some of your more difficult feelings. How you feel is valid, and the trauma you experienced was real, and you’re allowed to give yourself the space and support you need to heal.

When dealing with trauma, especially that created by neglect, our ability to care for ourselves will often lead to us being incapable of looking for external help when we need it. Be aware of the potential for connection that’s around you and know that it can be hard, when we’re in pain, to see the possibilities of help that are around us. 

Pisces

Your Card: 4 of Cups. Trauma can often make us feel depressed and disconnected from the things that we love, Pisces. It’s hard to undergo the intense work of healing when we can’t connect with what inspires us to be our best selves. It may sound trite, but it can help if you can reframe your situation by centering yourself near your gratitude. Gratitude is a sacred gift that will help light your way toward healing.
