What ‘Fourth Wing’ Character Are You, Based On Your Zodiac Sign
Fourth Wing is an adult fantasy novel by Rebecca Yarros. It reached number 1 on the New York Times bestseller list and was one of the top books sold in 2023. It became a “Booktok” phenomenon and has a movie adaptation on the horizon.
Aries – Xaden
We know that Xaden was born in March, and throughout the series he demonstrates a lot of Aries qualities. He is a fierce lover, and loves just as fiercely as he competes. Aries men are known to be stubborn. When this stubborn side takes over, Aries can be closed off, even ruthless. This stubbornness changes into arrogance and hot-headedness, not willing to take another person’s viewpoint into consideration, which we saw play out with Violet. Xaden is stubborn in not letting Violet know all of the secrets he is keeping. He takes bold and courageous actions to help others without expecting anything in return. He is always willing to stand up for what is right and lead with integrity.
Taurus – Rhiannon
Rhiannon is a natural leader, smart and independent. She is also a loyal friend. Taurus women don’t hesitate to take on leadership roles and they have no problem with going after what they want, which is why Rhiannon becomes a squad leader and the reason Violet does not doubt that she will be a Wingleader one day. A Taurus female is always ready to provide support or guidance and will be disappointed if she doesn’t get the same in return. We see this play out when Violet starts withholding information from Rhiannon after the events that took place at the end of Fourth Wing. She wants people to present themselves as they truly are, and she’ll quickly grow weary of those who dance around issues or try to shape her perceptions of reality. A typical Taurus woman is quite loyal. Rhiannon may have many acquaintances, but she’ll grant her loyalty to only a few close friends.
Gemini – Ridoc
Ridoc is the “class clown” in this series. He’s chatty and witty, and naturally playful. Gemini men are easily adaptable, which readers can get a sense of Ridoc’s very “go with the flow” nature in the books. Ridoc isn’t afraid to stand up to people, he will insult or make fun of anyone without caring about the reprocussions. He is one of the more lovable characters and makes friends easily.
Cancer- Andarna
Andarna is caring and protective of Violet, usually risking her life to help her and using strength beyond her size and capability at times. She is very intuitive and checks in with Violet whenever she senses something is wrong. She was intuitive even before she hatched, stating she waited to hatch until Violet’s 18th birthday. She overheard the elders talk about the weakling daughter of their general, the girl forecasted to become the head of the scribes, and she knew Violet would have the mind of a scribe and the heart of a rider. That was when she knew she wanted Violet to be her rider. She becomes moody as she grows and goes through her “teenage years”. Cancer women are very nurturing, which Andarna gives us a glimpse of whenever she is there for Violet.
Leo – Violet
We are told that Violet’s birthday is in July. A striking trait of a Leo woman is her dedication towards her goals, which Violet exemplifies throughout the books. She doesn’t let her adversities or size stop her. Leos are very creative, and we see Violet being creative when she used her knowledge of poisonous herbs and berries to get an edge on her sparring competition. Leo women are strong, independent individuals who don’t need a partner to feel complete. Violet makes it clear she doesn’t need Xaden to help her through her second year as a cadet, although she does want him. You’ll rarely find a brazen Lion who accepts someone else’s opinion or point of view. Seeing how Violet refused to see Xaden’s point of view when he didn’t share all of his secrets with her, she becomes exactly that brazen Lion.
Virgo – Bodhi
Virgo men are down to Earth, focused workers, and helpful souls. It is revealed in Iron Flame that Bodhi is responsible for moving the maneuvering practices to buy time for Andarna and Violet. He’s always helpful and logical throughout the books. Virgo men are honest, smart, and have great work ethics, which all describe Bodhi. He uses logic to settle disagreements, stands up against injustice, and is always using reason. As Violet stated in Iron Flame, he is always the reasonable one in the group.
Libra – Sawyer
Sawyer is the peacemaker of the group, always seeing both sides to every argument or trying to defuse situations. He is the voice of reason, and uses that reason when the cadets first see the Gauntlet in Fourth Wing. Libra men are approachable, caring, and make friends easily, which is Sawyer to a T. Libra men, governed by Venus, prioritize fairness but can also be enigmatic. Sawyer embodies a Libra throughout the series.
Scorpio – Imogen
Scorpios are motivated to succeed, self-confident, courageous, and strong, which defines Imogen. She works hard and doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her. She can be intense, and is fiercely loyal to anyone with a rebellion relic. She has a unique perspective on life. At first she is often misunderstood due to her complex personality. She comes across as tough and you aren’t sure if you like her at first, but as you keep getting to her know she wins you over.
Sagittarius – Mira
Sagittarian women are generous, adventurous, and calm under stressful situations. Mira is always calm, even when Violet is about to walk the parapet or leave in the middle of the night to go to Rhiannon’s home village. She was generous when she made Violet her armor, and gave her the book from Brennon. Mira is loyal, fierce, and determined. She isn’t afraid to say it like it is.
Capricorn- Dain
Violet says Dain has to always know everything, which speaks volumes about his signet. Dain is a rule follower, and has a need for order. Capricorn men are known for their reserved and serious nature, Dain is almost always serious. He is responsible and hardworking, with a strong sense of duty. Dain is also ambitious, making it to Wingleader in his third year at Basgiath. Saturn, Capricorn’s ruling planet, symbolizes responsibility, structure, and long-term goals. Dain must always have structure and will always follow the rules, even if it means losing Violet as a friend or risking a life.
Aquarius- Tairn
Being one of the most prominent dragons, Tairn has to be an air sign. Aquarius men are intellectual, thoughtful, charismatic, and an expert communicator, as Tairn is an example of all of those characteristics. He has a rebellious spirit, is highly unpredictable and kind of an extremist. He claims many times he is willing to swallow a teacher or peer that speaks to Violet with any sort of tone. He doesn’t follow the rules during flying lessons. Aquarius men typically have extreme moods, they are either black or white, there is no grey area for them. Tairn gets moody throughout the books and is always very clear in what he is thinking. Aquarius men are dominant in every aspect of their lives, which we know Tairn is the biggest and best dragon, there for being the most dominant. Aquarians are rebellious, and Tairn has no problem helping out the rebellion and keeping their secrets, even if it’s going against Navarre.
Pisces – Liam
Pisces men are kind and intuitive, and we all know Liam had both of these qualities. He is adaptable, switching from another wing to protect Violet. Liam is easygoing and gets along with everyone. A Pisces man would do anything for their friends and family. Liam literally gave his life to protect Violet, and was willing to do anything for Xaden. They care more about others than they care about themselves, which was in Liam’s nature. We see that proven multiple times throughout the first book, like when he attends the Reunification Day celebration to protect Violet even though he was clearly not welcome.
