What Each Zodiac Sign Can Expect During Sagittarius Season

Whether you’re ready or not, Sagittarius season is here, friends!

From November 22nd until December 21st, the Sun will be in the gregarious, adventurous sign of Sagittarius. After being in introspective Scorpio the last month, this energy will feel like we are emerging from our cocoon, and we’re ready to party after feeling cooped up! However, some chaos is also in the stars (which is pretty in brand for Sagittarius, to be honest) as Mercury—the planet of communication and travel—goes retrograde from November 25th to December 15th. While this may sound intimidating, don’t panic! Mercury retrograde asks us to slow down and think things through before we speak, something that isn’t always Sagittarius’ specialty. However, if we can be mindful of our words and be prepared to go with the flow with travel delays, this period could be a much-needed pause to get our ducks in a row.

With that in mind, the New Moon in Sagittarius on November 30th allows us to manifest and focus on what we want. The Mercury in retrograde may try to slow us down, but the New Moon lets you put that reflective energy to good use by thinking about what you want and need out of life. Later in the month, the Full Moon in Gemini on December 15th will help provide some closure and clear up some questions we’ve had surrounding areas of life we’ve been overanalyzing a little too closely.

Finally, if one retrograde wasn’t enough, why not have two? That’s right—Mars, the planet of action, aggression, and ambition in the sign of Leo, will begin its retrograde on December 6th, which will continue into next year. This could leave us feeling a little less motivated and confident, but it can also be a period that lets us focus on what we need to get things moving forward again. Will you be your own hero, or wait for someone else to save you?

Check your signs below (Rising and Sun!) to see what each zodiac sign can expect during Sagittarius season 2024

Aries

You’re embracing your adventurous side, Aries! Sagittarius season spotlights your 9th House of Philosophy, Travel, and Higher Education, and your thirst for new experiences is more alive than usual. You’re often one to act first, think later, but when Mercury begins its retrograde, you’ll need to slow things down before you take uncalculated risks a step too far. It makes sense to want to throw yourself into exploration, but if you’re using it to bypass emotions and genuine introspection into where you want to go, things can go sideways quickly. When Mars, your ruling planet, begins its retrograde in Leo, you’ll feel your energy slowing down as you spend time determining what will fulfill you, but you won’t have a clear direction of what that looks like. Ultimately, when Mercury stations direct again, things will start coming together, but you’ll want to pay attention so you’re not repeating the same lessons over and over again.

Taurus

You’re engaging with what bonds you to others, Taurus. Sagittarius primarily focuses on your 8th House of Intimacy and Shared Resources, which will have you desiring to take risks in your connections and finances. Despite the carefree nature of Sag, you’ll want to slow your roll on jumping the gun too soon, as Mercury begins its retrograde on November 25th. If you opt to be impulsive in your spending (especially if you owe money to others or are sharing finances with someone else), then be aware that things will likely get dicey quickly. However, with the New Moon in Sagittarius happening on November 30th, you have the ideal opportunity to sit down and think about what you want your future goals in terms of money to look like, as well as examine how you’re tied to other people. It can be difficult to accept that your decisions don’t always impact you alone—you have other people to consider. Setting goals around how you want to structure your finances can be beneficial during this time, though you may experience some tension from family or unexpected home expenses when Mars begins its retrograde in Leo later in December. Your best bet is to sit tight and think things through before you make any major purchases—your future self will thank you for it later.

Gemini

Your relationships are on the brain this month, Gemini! Sagittarius season illuminates your 7th House of Partnerships, and you’re prepared to connect and socialize with those closest to you through discoveries. While you may find yourself ready to dive in headfirst to new relationships—romantic, platonic, or business—it’s best to know who you’re pursuing once Mercury goes into retrograde. Those three weeks may involve a familiar face from your past looking to reconnect, but only you can decide if another chance is on the table, or if you walked away from this dynamic for a reason. The Full Moon in Gemini will offer you a clearer resolution of how the choices you’ve made shape your life and could offer some much-needed closure on partnerships that are best left in the past.

Cancer

You’re getting things in order, Cancer. Sagittarius season focuses on your 6th House of Habits, Routines, and Wellness, so you’re taking a closer look at how you spend your day-to-day. On the one hand, Sagittarius energy pushes you to take a flexible approach to managing your tasks and schedules, which can be helpful for you as you can become overwhelmed pretty quickly as things pile up. However, this could also leave you to be a little too carefree in your priorities, especially once Mercury moves into retrograde. If you’re wise, you’ll use the New Moon in Sagittarius to help channel and focus on the best ways to handle your routines in a way that keeps things in order without becoming too rigid. Things are bound to change quickly, and adaptability is your friend during this season.

Leo

Sparks are about to fly, Leo! Sagittarius season kicks things off with the Sun moving into your 5th House of Creativity and Pleasure, and the influence on your creative and romantic pursuits will be felt. You may find yourself desiring to take risks in these areas that usually would pay off. However, when Mercury begins its retrograde, your bold attempts may come across as too intense rather than admirable, especially if communication is off between you and others involved. Be sure you’re sending those texts to the right person, and you’re being clear in what you’re after—and don’t be surprised if an ex or a “what if?” person pops back up in your life, hoping to pick things up again. While only you can decide whether to give them another chance, remember that when the retrograde ends you’ll have more clarity on the situation. You’ll also want to keep an eye out when Mars goes retrograde in your sign, as it may have you doubting your abilities and shaking your confidence up a bit. While you may want to go big or go home, it’s worth taking your time before making choices you’ll regret later.

Virgo

You’re feeling right at home, Virgo. Sagittarius season lights up your 4th House of Home and Roots, and your attention is turned to more domestic matters. Work/life balance isn’t the easiest to maintain, and with Jupiter continuing its journey in your 10th House, Sagittarius season finds you struggling to juggle your home and work responsibilities. Trying to take on everything without asking for help is only going to lead to disaster, especially knowing how hard on yourself you can be. When Mercury goes retrograde, you’ll either deal with a reality check that reminds you that you need to be realistic about what you can handle, or you’ll have the chance to sort out your priorities before things get out of hand—the New Moon, in particular, can be an ideal period of setting intentions to keep yourself from drowning in the chaos.

Libra

You’re ready to socialize, Libra! Sagittarius season focuses on your 3rd House of Communication and Local Community, so don’t be surprised if your social calendar starts filling up fast! While you may long to be everywhere at once, you’ll want to be mindful of what you say and how you say it—especially when Mercury goes retrograde. It can be far too easy to fixate on being “brutally honest” or careless with words, but it won’t get you the respect or foster the connections you long for. Your best bet is to take a deep breath and think before you speak. You’ll also want to ensure you’re not jumping to conclusions about other’s intentions, as miscommunication may pop up on both sides. You want others to treat you how you’d like to be treated, so use this season to practice!

Scorpio

You’re focusing on finances this month, Scorpio. Sagittarius spotlights your 2nd House of Income and Values, meaning you’re working to strike a balance between saving and spending. While you may long to spend cash as if it’s burning a hole in your pocket, you’ll want to hold off on leaning too hard into the “treat yourself” mantra. When Mercury goes retrograde, it’s imperative that you not only hold onto your money but also plan out a budget you can stick to. As Mars begins its retrograde in your 10th House of Career and Public Image, work issues and unexpected delays may mean a nest egg is a good investment. It never hurts to be prepared!

Sagittarius

It’s your season, so get ready, Sagittarius! As the Sun moves into your 1st House of Self and Identity, you’ll experience plenty of excitement and confidence—you’re feeling yourself and want everyone to know it. Once Mercury goes retrograde, though, you may find you’re sticking your foot in your mouth far too often. Take the time to think before you speak, as your brand of blunt humor may not come across as charming as usual. Using this period to think about the impression you want to make is for the best, as the energy surrounding the New Moon can help you set the right intentions to get you there. The Full Moon in Gemini in your 7th House of Partnerships could also provide some illumination on whether the people you surround yourself with are influencing you for better or worse—you’ll want to ask yourself if some of these connections have overstayed their welcome.

Capricorn

You’re feeling introspective, Capricorn. Sagittarius season fixates on your 12th House of Isolation and Subconscious, and you could use a break to recharge from the world. However, as Mercury begins retrograde, you may be tempted to spiral into self-sabotaging thoughts rather than giving yourself the rest you need. Trying to punish yourself and neglecting your mental health benefits no one—taking the time to reset and figure out what you need to thrive mentally and emotionally is a better way to make the most of this period. The New Moon in Sagittarius can serve as a jumping-off point—even if you find it silly, breaking out a journal and getting your thoughts down on paper can help you recenter rather than sink further into despair.

Aquarius

You’re feeling more sociable and connected, Aquarius! Sagittarius season illuminates your 11th House of Friendships and Networking, and you may find you’re striking up connections and conversations with people who make you feel seen. You know the company you keep is important, and you may discover sides to some people you didn’t expect as Mercury in retrograde shows their true colors. Naturally, you’ll want to ensure that this isn’t a simple slip in communication before you make any decisions, but you’ll want to think over whether the people you keep close company with are genuinely aligned with your values. The New Moon in Sagittarius may open doors for you to meet people who share your visions and goals for the future, so be open to new connections in unexpected places. When Mars begins its retrograde in your 7th House of Partnerships, be aware that tempers could run high with those closest to you, but you’ll want to ensure you’re not burning bridges before you see the whole picture.

Pisces

All eyes are on you, Pisces! As Sagittarius season focuses on your 10th House of Career and Public Image, you could find yourself determined to figure out what your purpose is. You could find that you’re tasked with taking on more responsibility, and you’re eager to prove yourself. However, once Mercury goes retrograde, you’ll find yourself trying to take on everything at once when you really should be slowing down and considering your options. You have the chance to make a name for yourself, but you’ll need to play your cards right—embrace confidence, but don’t think things will be handed to you. The New Moon in Sagittarius is ideal for manifesting this life and positions you’re longing for, so don’t let it pass you by. You may have to overcome some motivational hurdles, particularly when Mars goes retrograde in your 6th House of Routines and Wellness, but if you can keep your eyes on the prize, you will be shocked at what you can make happen.
